Fitbit Ace Fitness Tracker For Kids Now Available

Fitness trackers such as those made by Fitbit are usually marketed towards teens or adults. However earlier this year the company announced the Fitbit Ace which is aimed towards kids. If you’re a parent who wouldn’t mind getting it for your child, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the Fitbit Ace is now available for purchase.

The fitness tracker is priced at $100 and has been designed for those aged 8 or older (so an adult with a pretty small wrist could technically use it as well). According to Fitbit, childhood obesity is on the rise and with the Fitbit Ace, they are hoping to encourage children to live a more healthy lifestyle.

Some of the features of the Fitbit Ace include a reminder for children to get in at least 250 steps every hour. It will buzz them when they’ve been stationary for too long as well, which are features that we’ve seen in other fitness devices such as the Apple Watch. It will also include motivation in the form of celebratory messages and rewards for achieving their goals.

The accompanying Fitbit app will also allow parents to keep track of their children’s activity levels and even their sleep hours. There are parental controls which further lets parents approve contacts that they are sharing their activities with.
