Earlier this year it was confirmed that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would be returning in 2020 with James Gunn back at the helm as writer and director. It was also revealed that the movie would begin filming in 2019, which we guess was obvious if they were hoping to make a 2020 launch, but when exactly would filming begin?

According to the actor Chris Pratt who plays Star-Lord in the movie, it will actually begin filming in January 2019. This was revealed during an interview with MTV in which the actor, who was promoting his latest movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, was asked about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Like we said we knew that filming would be taking place in 2019, but Pratt’s answer revealed a more specific time frame. According to the actor, “I’m slated to film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in January, so we don’t know yet, time-wise, where that lines up [with Avengers 4]. I’m hoping it’s not the last you’ll see me, but I can’t be sure.”

No doubt many are curious as to how the Guardians of the Galaxy movie will move forward considering the way Avengers: Infinity War ended, but presumably we should have those answers come 2019 where the fourth Avengers movie is expected to tie up all the loose ends.
