HMD Global confirmed a couple of months ago that it would release the Nokia 8 Pro Camera update in the not too distant future. Many Nokia 8 owners had expressed concerns about the camera app on the device and the company promised them that their concerns would be addressed through the Pro Camera update. Nokia 8 owners will now be delighted to know that the promised update is now finally rolling out for their devices.

HMD Global recently explained why it has taken the company so long to prepare this update. It actually had to overhaul the entire imaging framework which took a few months and the company even mentioned that the job took longer than anticipated.

Nokia 8 owners had been feeling left out because of the features are already present on the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The update brings back the Pro Camera mode which will give users full manual controls over focus, white balance, ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation.

It’s included in software upgrade version V4.88B that’s now rolling out for the Nokia 8. The file itself weighs in at 603.2MB and brings some user interface enhancements as well as system stability improvements alongside the Pro Camera mode. The Nokia 8 already happens to be running on the latest iteration of Android which is Oreo version 8.1.
