Amazon created its own annual sales holiday back in 2015 called Prime Day and it has only got bigger and better since then. The company today confirmed the Amazon Prime Day 2018 date and hyped up that its shopping event will run longer than ever this year. Deals will run for 36 hours through the next day which will make Amazon Prime Day 2018 the longest event of this kind in Amazon’s history.

The event is a great way to add countless new Prime members to the platform for Amazon. The company said that it brought it “tens of millions” of Prime members to its platform overnight last year.

Prime Day has been extended from 30 hours in 2017 to 36 hours in 2018. There will be more than one million deals for Prime members exclusively and they will also get select deals at all U.S. Whole Foods Market stores.

The deals will be available across all categories such as fashion, furniture, grocery, toys, kitchen, smart home, TVs, and more. Amazon is going to offer double the deals on its hardware devices as well as the biggest deals yet on Alexa-powered products like the Echo, Five TV, and Fire tablets.

The company is also expanding Prime Day to additional markets this year. In addition to the U.S., U.K., Spain, Mexico, Japan, India, Italy, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium and Austria, Amazon Prime Day 2018 will also offer deals to Prime members in Australia, Singapore, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
