Back in the day when the majority of smartphones were only available in a black finish, seeing phones launched in white was such a rare sight. These days red appears to be a pretty popular alternative to white as we have seen quite a few handset manufacturers launch their phones in a red finish.

If you’ve been eyeing the OnePlus 6, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the handset has been launched with a new Amber Red color option. The OnePlus 6 was officially announced in May and believe it or not, the Amber Red is not the only color/finish variant that was launched after the phone’s official announcement. Back in May a special Avengers: Infinity War Edition was also launched to celebrate the movie.

OnePlus has teamed up with various movies in the past to launch similarly-themed handsets so it didn’t really come as a surprise. That being said, it seems that for now the Amber Red finish will only be available in China with sales starting on the 9th of July. There’s no word on whether or not there are plans to eventually bring that color option to the US, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Apart from the new color option, the handset’s specs and features will remain the same and so will its pricing, where the Amber Red model will retail for around $542 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model.
