Facebook Watch Gets Breaking News From Next Week

There’s a reason why Facebook has been reducing the time that breaking news gets in the News Feed because it’s adding a dedicated section for breaking news to its Facebook Watch platform. The company launched its Facebook Watch platform recently to deliver TV-style content. It has been inking lucrative deals to bring more content to the platform and it has now done so for news programming.

Facebook first announced the dedicated News section in Watch in May. It’s paying reputable news networks to create exclusive content for its platform and they have done just that.

The news programming kicks off starting next week on Facebook Watch with the premiere of Fox News Update from Fox News. It will be available starting Monday, July 16th. Other shows that will eventually be available include On Location from ABC News, Anderson Cooper Full Circle from CNN, Real America with Jorge Ramos, and others.

Facebook has also announced more programming for its Breaking News section which includes At What Cost from Bloomberg, an interview show called Profile from BuzzFeed News, NowThisMorning from NowThis, and more.

Some of the shows mentioned above will be aired on Facebook Watch next week. Facebook has confirmed that it’s going to launch more shows later this summer.
