We already know when Samsung will be officially unveiling the Galaxy Note 9. The company will conduct a special event for this purpose in New York City on August 9. What it hasn’t confirmed so far is when the handset is actually going to be released. A new report out of South Korea suggests that the Galaxy Note 9 release date may be August 24th.

Samsung usually takes a couple of weeks to bring a device to market after it’s unveiled. The August 24th release date for the Galaxy Note 9 would make sense as it fits into that time frame.

The report claims that Samsung has informed its carrier partners in South Korea that it will release the handset in its native market of South Korea on August 24th. That’s also when the Galaxy Note 9 may be released in other markets since South Korea is almost always on the list of markets that get new Samsung flagships first.

The carriers in South Korea may take pre-orders for ten days after the handset is unveiled before eventually releasing the device on August 24th. If that is the case, the Galaxy Note 9 will arrive a couple of weeks earlier than its predecessor which was released on September 15th last year.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything about the Galaxy Note 9 release date at this point in time and it’s unlikely that it will say something before August 9th.
