Did Microsoft Just Tease Their Rumored ‘Andromeda’ Device?

A couple of days ago, Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer Panos Panay posted a photo on his Twitter. It looked innocent enough in which it showed a picture frame in which one half showed a caricature of Panay, while the other half showed a group photo. However it seems that this innocent tweet has resulted in some speculation that it might be more than what it seems.

In you recall, just last week there was a leak which seemed to corroborate the rumors that Microsoft has a new Surface device in the works codenamed “Andromeda”. There were even accompanying renders based on what the prototype is said to look like, and lo-and-behold, it is a device that can be folded that also features two displays, just like the picture frame that Panay tweeted.

It really feels like too much of a coincidence to be just an innocent tweet, plus the shoutout to LG Display has led to speculation that the company could be the ones providing the displays for the rumored Andromeda device. Right now not much is known about Andromeda, save for that it will be a foldable device that is small enough to be pocketed, which some believe could also be a mobile phone.

However as per the previous report, it was suggested that there was no guarantee that Andromeda would make it out of prototyping and become a full-fledged product, so needless to say that we should probably take it with a grain of salt for now.
