Samsung’s Galaxy X May Arrive Before Galaxy S10

It has been repeatedly rumored over the past couple of years that Samsung has a foldable smartphone in the pipeline. The company itself has said that it’s going to launch the device but hasn’t confirmed when that’s going to happen. A new report suggests that Samsung’s foldable smartphone, commonly referred to as the Galaxy X, may arrive before the Galaxy S10 is due next year.

Samsung doesn’t normally unveil new smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show. The event is meant for its appliances and other consumer devices. A new report out of China claims that Samsung is going to launch its foldable smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show in January next year.

As far as the Galaxy S10 is concerned, the company is expected to launch it at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in February. This would be in line with tradition since Samsung normally launches new Galaxy S series handsets at MWC in Barcelona.

There isn’t much information available about the specifications that Samsung’s foldable smartphone will have. A recent report suggested that its display may only fold two-thirds of the way up so that users can view notifications and other information without having to unfold the device every single time.

It’s also unclear in which markets Samsung will launch this device and how much it’s going to cost.
