Sony recently confirmed the price and release date of the premium version of its Xperia XZ2 smartphone that it launched in February this year. The Xperia XZ2 has all of the core ingredients that make up a flagship smartphone in 2018 but Sony is going to sell the Xperia XZ2 Premium as well which comes with some upgrades compared to the first model. Pre-orders for the Xperia XZ2 Premium are now live in the United States.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium touts a 5.8 inch 4K HDR display and is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor as the XZ2. The chip is accompanied by 6GB of RAM and a 3,540mAh battery. The Xperia XZ2 Premium features a dual camera system at the back with a 19 megapixel color and 12 megapixel monochrome sensor that has a maximum ISO of 51,200.

There’s a Dynamic Vibration system onboard as well which makes the device rumble along with the media that’s playing on it. It also features 4K video recording capability, a dedicated camera shutter button, and more. There’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on the Xperia XZ2 Premium so if that’s a dealbreaker for you, you’re better off not purchasing this handset.

Interested customers can pre-order the Xperia XZ2 Premium from Amazon starting today. It’s expensive, the handset costs $999. Even those who pre-order it today won’t get it until July 30th because that’s when the company will start shipping it.
