For a while now we have been hearing that multiplayer will be a feature that will soon be coming to Stardew Valley. The multiplayer feature is currently in testing and the good news is that if this is an update you’ve been looking forward to, you’ll be pleased to learn that you won’t have to wait much longer for it.

In the video above, the game’s developer has revealed that the update will be arriving on the 1st of August. However note that this multiplayer update is only arriving for Stardew Valley on the PC, Mac, and Linux first, and that other versions of the game such as the version on the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch will arrive at a later date that was not mentioned.

Also what was not mentioned was whether or not there will be cross-play support. In recent times we’ve seen how developers have started to make their games cross-play compatible across consoles, so it is unclear if Stardew Valley will be given the same treatment, and more importantly whether or not Sony will allow it.

In any case for those who are curious about the update and some of the new content that will also be part of the update, check out the trailer above for the details.
