Xiaomi reportedly had two Android One smartphones in the pipeline and the company today unveiled both of them. The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite are now official. As they are part of the Android One program, the devices will provide a stock Android 8.1 experience. Since many customers prefer a stock Android experience, the company might see considerable interest in these handsets.

They’re the successors to last year’s Mi A1 which itself was based on the Mi 5X that Xiaomi had kept limited to China. It’s a similar story this year as the Mi A2 has specs identical to those of the Mi 6X.

It has a Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. It also features an 18:9 aspect ratio 6 inch 1080p LCD display, a 12 + 20 megapixel dual rear camera, a 20 megapixel front camera, USB Type C port, and a 3,000mAh battery.

The Mi A2 Lite is slightly smaller as it features a 19:9 aspect ratio 5.84 inch 1080p LCD display with a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, 12 + 5 megapixel dual rear cameras, 5 megapixel front camera, a 4,000mAh battery, and a microUSB port.

The new handsets will be available in Spain initially with prices for the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite starting at approximately $290. Xiaomi has said that it will release the handsets in up to 40 countries later this month.
