A couple of months ago, Bandai Namco announced Dragon Ball FighterZ would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game is scheduled for a release on the 28th of September, but the good news is that if you wanted to be able to check out the game ahead of its release, an open beta has been announced.

The open beta will be taking place on the 9th of August starting at 9pm PDT, and will officially come to an end on the 11th of August at 11:59pm PDT. Players who wish to take part can do so and will not require them to have pre-ordered the game in advance, so this is a good way for you to check out the game before deciding whether or not it will be worth your money.

According to Nintendo’s announcement, “Players will be able to choose amongst 23 of their favorite DRAGON BALL FighterZ characters for this Open Beta and take them into battle in Arena Match, Ring Match, and Ring Party Match modes. Or they can spend some time in Practice Battle Tutorial mode to get some training in before taking on real life opponents.”

Dragon Ball FighterZ is based on the popular anime/manga Dragon Ball and one of the unique features of the game is that it utilizes anime-style graphics versus some of the more polished 3D graphics that we’re seeing from other anime-based fighting games.
