Many Android smartphone manufacturers have embraced the notched display. Huawei, one of the leading smartphone makers in the world, has done that as well. The company will soon be launching its Huawei Mate 20 series and at least one of the devices in the upcoming lineup is now expected to feature a notched display. This courtesy of a leaked Huawei Mate 20 Lite render.

The leaked render suggests that the Huawei Mate 20 Lite is going to have a notched display. This space will be used to house components like the earpiece and potentially a dual front facing camera.

In the specs department, it’s said to feature a 6.3 inch LCD display with 2340×1080 pixel resolution, a Kirin 710 2.2 GHz octacore processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There may also be a dual camera system at the back. If history is any indication, the Mate 20 Lite will be the entry-level model of the upcoming series.

Huawei has already taken a jab at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 as the flagship Mate 20 model will obviously go toe to toe against the Samsung flagship. It remains to be seen how far Huawei pushes the envelope with that handset.

The company did mention recently that the Mate 20 is going to have its largest battery yet. It hasn’t confirmed the capacity but reports suggest that it could have a 4,200mAh battery.
