Microsoft introduced its Your Phone app for Windows 10 back its Build developer conference in May. The app will enable users to mirror content from their phone to their Windows 10 PC. Microsoft has now started testing this app and it will be available to Android users first.

The app will let users see a picture they have taken on their Android smartphone immediately on their Windows 10 PC. The Your Phone app will sync the handset’s most recent photos automatically with the PC. They will also be able to drag and drop recent photos straight into Office and other Windows apps from the device.

All of this can be done when the companion app is downloaded on the smartphone. Microsoft will bring this app to iOS users as well. The company did say that photos and notifications could be mirrored from iPhones to Windows 10 PCs during its Build conference but it’s not testing that right now with Insiders. The test is limited to Android users.

This is only the first set of features that Microsoft is adding to this app. It has confirmed that support for syncing text messages and notifications will eventually be added as well. It will also be possible to mirror the smartphone to the PC in the future as well.

The Your Phone app is being tested as part of the next major Windows 10 update that’s due this October. It’s unclear if the app will be released with the update or separately after it.
