5G is set to become the next wireless standard for mobile devices and we imagine that it will eventually replace 4G which is the current standard. We’re sure that there are probably some who are skeptical of 5G and whether or not this is all some kind of marketing ploy to get us to upgrade our devices or pay more for new plans, but T-Mobile wants to ease your mind.

The company has announced that they plan to demonstrate the benefits of 5G by deploying trucks that will allow the company to show off what 5G can do. According to T-Mobile, “The Tech Experience takes the benefits of 5G – like lower latency, increased capacity, insanely fast speeds, and more – and brings them to life with real world demonstrations and hands-on interactive experiences.”

“Visitors will better envision a world where EVERYTHING is connected – where you’ll never lose anything again. Connected drones go from novelty to necessary, playing a crucial role in emergencies and forever changing home delivery. Smart cities are brought to life through interactive displays to show how they’ll become safer, cleaner and more efficient. Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR & VR) become a part of our everyday lives, revolutionizing the way we communicate.”

The major carriers in the US already have plans to start rolling out 5G coverage this year, with T-Mobile aiming for 30 cities by the end of the year. Of course this will require consumers to own 5G compatible devices which we expect to see more of come 2019.
