Leading up to the launch of the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth expansion, Blizzard has been releasing various animated shorts where there was one released for Alliance member Jaina Proudmoore, and more recently one for the Horde leader Sylvanas Windrunner. Now a new trailer has been released dubbed “Old Soldier”.

Unlike the previous releases, Old Soldier is a cinematic quality release and as expected of Blizzard, it has been done in painstaking detail. It looks fantastic which always begs the question of why Blizzard didn’t just make the Warcraft movie themselves? That being said, this cinematic focuses on Orc warrior Varok Saurfang who seems to be disgusted with the actions of Sylvanas from the previous animated short, where he felt that the attack lacked honor.

For those who have been playing World of Warcraft for a long time, Varok Saurfang might be a name familiar to you as he was the father to Dranosh Saurfang, one of the bosses in the Icecrown Citadel raid in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion where players had to defeat him to move on in the raid.

In any case if you have about 6 minutes or so to spare, then this cinematic could be worth checking out. We imagine that Blizzard probably has a few more cinematics and trailers up their sleeves leading to the launch of Battle for Azeroth which is currently set for the 14th of August, 2018.
