#CES2019 – Ideally playing games on a desktop PC would be much better than gaming on a laptop, thanks to better airflow, the ability to support larger GPUs, and so on. However we understand that sometimes you don’t have the time or luxury to sit at home and play games, which is where gaming laptops can come in handy.

For those shopping about for new gaming laptops, Lenovo might have something for you in the Lenovo Legion Y740. This is the company’s latest gaming laptop which is being offered in 15-inch and 17-inch versions. Apart from the different in its display size, the rest of the specs are pretty much identical.

This includes the use of Intel’s 8th generation Core i5-8300H processor, or it can also be configured with the i7-8750H processor. It will also support up to 32GB of RAM if you need, but there is also the option for an 8GB + 8GB 3200MHz Corsair overclocked memory. We’re also looking at the use of Dolby designed speakers and Dolby Atmos Sound System, where the 17-inch model will actually come with a subwoofer built into it.

Lenovo doesn’t state which GPUs the laptops will be using, but they will be by NVIDIA so perhaps additional details will be revealed later on. Both laptops regardless of display size will also come with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080, with the option for Dolby Vision HDR or NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology. If overheating is a concern of yours, especially when it comes to more intensive tasks, the laptops will use Lenovo’s Coldfront dual fan thermal layout that should help with that.

As for pricing, the 15-inch model will be priced starting at $1,749.99, while the 17-inch model will go for $1,979.99, with both models expected to be available in February.
