Considering that 2018 was the “S” year in iPhone refreshes, it is expected that this year’s iPhones will feature something new. Now last week there was a render that showed off the iPhone with a triple lens setup on the back, claiming that this could be a design that Apple will adopt for their 2019 flagships.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but now it seems that those rumors are gaining traction and some credibility, thanks to a new report from the Wall Street Journal who also corroborates those claims. According to their report, “Apple plans to introduce some new camera features, including a triple rear camera for the highest-end model and double rear camera for the two other models, the people said.”

The report also goes on to claim that Apple is expected to continue sticking with a trio of iPhones for this year, where one will also continue to use an LCD instead of OLED. This echoes what we had heard previously where Apple was said to continue using LCD in one of its models as far as its 2019 iPhones are concerned.

It also seems that Apple’s plans for its 2019 iPhones isn’t complete yet, but since major features of the phones can’t be changed easily, there’s not much wiggle room. However that isn’t the case for its 2020 models where it is still very much subject to revision.
