One of the barriers to owning a Lamborghini would be money, where the cars tend to be priced well out of the range of most people, limiting it to the super wealthy. However, it seems that in a bid to make itself be more exclusive, Lamborghini has announced that moving forwards, they will be limiting its production to focus more on exclusivity.

This is according to Lamborghini’s CEO Stefano Domenicali who said, “We must not go on growing forever. We now have to consolidate these results and preserve exclusivity.” The company’s cars were previously rather difficult to acquire, which means that with these changes, it seems that even amongst the rich, not everyone will be able to get their hands on it.

The company is expected to limit its production to about 8,000 cars per year starting in 2020. It is possible that the company could increase that to 10,000 units a year but only if there is an introduction of a fourth model. However, according to Domenicali, the addition of the fourth model will have to be discussed with shareholders first.

It will be interesting to see how this could affect the company’s overall sales, where based on estimates, the company is expected to record about $1.92 billion in sales for 2019. This is an increase from 2018 in which they managed to earn $1.6 billion.
