MWC 2020 will be taking place later this month. It will be a massive event where there will be many companies who are expected to be present to announce upcoming mobile products and services. However, with the coronavirus outbreak, is it really such a good idea to be in such a huge crowd?

Turns out that LG doesn’t think so, and in a statement released on its website, the company has announced that they will be sitting out on MWC 2020 this year. According to LG, “With the safety of its employees, partners and customers foremost in mind, LG has decided to withdraw from exhibiting and participating in MWC 2020 later this month in Barcelona, Spain.”

“This decision removes the risk of exposing hundreds of LG employees to international travel which has already become more restrictive as the virus continues to spread across borders.” So what about the new products that many are expecting LG to announce, like the LG G9 ThinQ, for example?

According to LG, they plan on hosting their own event in the future in which they will be using that opportunity to announce their new products, whatever it may be. So, if you were hoping for some LG news to come out of MWC 2020 this year, you are going to be a bit disappointed.
