Windows has a built-in Action Center that alerts you about all security and maintenance issues. It will keep an eye on your PC to check if the system is running smoothly, and let you know if there are any changes required. This can be very handy, but at the same time a bit annoying.

More experienced user may find these notifications annoying, as they can ensure proper functioning of the system by themselves, and constant notifications will just get in their way. If you are tired of these notifications as well, we’ll show you the quick way to disable them.

Warning: Although, these notifications can be a bit frustrating, they are of great importance for the proper functioning of your system. Without them, you might have a serious issue with your PC and never be notified (let alone corrected). Only disable these notifications when you are absolutely sure you don’t need any reminders and can maintain your system without them.

Method #1: Disable Individual Notifications

This should be your first approach to disable notifications in Windows. It is safer than completely disabling all notifications. If there is a single notification that is bugging you, then it is better to disable just that one.

To get started, click on the Start menu and from there, click on “Control panel”. In the control panel, click on the drop down menu located next to the option “View by” on the top right corner of the screen. From the drop down menu, select “Large/Small icons” depending on how you want to view the menu.

Now, click on “Actions Center”, it should be the first option in the list. In the Action Center, Click on “Change Action Center settings” located in the left panel. You will see all the messages/notifications that may show up if there is any issue with your PC.

Just uncheck all the options for which you don’t want to be notified. This includes the notification that keeps bugging you all the time. When you are done, click on “OK” and your changes will be saved.

You will not receive any notifications for the unchecked options. If you want to receive notifications again in the future, just go through the same process and “Check” the check-box next to the required option.

Method #2: Turn off the Windows Action Center

If you are really tired of all the notifications, then you also have the option to turn off the Action Center completely (again, this is not recommended).

To turn off the Action Center, open Control panel and change the “View” option just like we did in the above method. Now, click on “Notification Area Icons” from all the options and from the next page, click on “Turn systems icon on or off” located at the bottom left corner of the window.

On the next page, you will see all the system icons and a drop down menu next to them to disable them. Click on the drop down menu next to “Action Center” and select “Off”. This will disable Action Center and you will see the icon removed from the system tray.

The above methods are enough to get rid of the annoying notifications, but still we will recommend the first method as it is more flexible.
