The Facebook Timeline is an interesting feature added by Facebook that completely changed the way we look at the information in our Facebook profiles. It might be a good feature and many people actually like it, but it is a forced feature, arguably the main feature of Facebook,without any kind of requests or permissions.
Even if the number is low, there are still people who actually prefer the old and simple interface from way back then. If you are one of the rebels who still want to get rid of Facebook’s timeline, then you will have to opt for Third-party options (more on that soon). Facebook simply doesn’t offer any way to get rid of it, and in actual, even third-party tools can’t help.
However, we can still help you find a way to make it seem like Facebook timeline is gone and you are using the old easy on the eye interface. These third-party tools will only change the visual appearance for you, so you could at least satisfy yourself even if others still see the same timeline on your profile.
Tool #1: Timeline Remover
If you just want to get rid of the thing and don’t want to confuse yourself in different processes, then Timeline Remover extension will be best for you. It will simply disable the timeline feature for your account and you can simply browse your profile or others profile in the old fashioned way.
However, other people will still be able to see your profile with the timeline. Just go to the website and download and install Timeline Remover for your specific browser. Currently they support, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.
Your browser may warn you to not to download this extension, but it is only because this extension is not included in the Official store of your browser. Once installed and enabled, all you need to do is refresh your profile page and Timeline will be gone. If you want it back, you will have to disable/remove the extension.
Tool #2: Social Fixer
Social Fixer is actually a fixer for Facebook that is supposed to get rid of things that Facebook users don’t like. It comes with tons of options to customize and make it easier to use Facebook. You can customize how you see the information and also how you interact with it.
This means it will also address the timeline issue most people are always complaining about. However, the fix it provides is actually not as easy on the eyes as what Timeline Remover can do, but it is customizable.
Download and install the extension just like we did above and open your Facebook account. Social Fixer will recommend you to customize some handy options, if you don’t want to change anything else, then decline all the changes.
You will see a new “Wrench” icon located at the top right side of the window. Click on it and from the menu select “Edit Social fixer options”. Now, you will see all the options that you can customize, if you want to customize any option, do it without any worry (they are reversible). However, we are only looking to get rid of the timeline in this article, so click on “Timeline” in the left panel.
You will see all the options you can use to hide timeline content. Check all the options and then click on “Save” to save all the changes. The changes will be applied when you will refresh the page.
