Sometimes your phone creates two or more than two copies of a single contact. This mostly happens when you factory reset a device and sync contacts or change SIM and accidentally sync all contacts. This can completely clutter the contacts, making it hard to navigate through contacts.

Now, you can always manually delete each and every copy of the all the contacts, but this will take forever. Not to worry, we know some simple tricks to remove duplicate contacts from your phone with a few taps.

In this tutorial, we are going to show you different methods to delete duplicate contacts, you can use the one that you can access easily.

Method #1: From the Phone Contacts

Many android phones come with Built-in contacts merging feature (not all of them, however). The phone will scan all contacts and let you delete all duplicate contacts with similar numbers and email address.

Access your Contacts app and tap on the menu button. From the menu, tap on “Merge accounts” and from next prompt tap on “Merge from Google”. From the next prompt, tap on “OK” and all your contacts will be merged.
