LG Prada Phone to be Redeveloped
Story posted on: May 09, 2008

NTT DoCoMo will go about redeveloping the LG Prada cell phone in time for a June release in Japan. You will be able to enjoy a (proclaimed) intuitive, full size touch screen display complete with haptic feedback for improved usability, a function which kicks in whenever the user touch the screen in order to perform an operation. In addition, you get a 2 megapixel German-made Schneider-Kreuznach lens and auto-focus capability which helps capture better photos than a standard camera phone ever could. Other features like a 7.2Mbps data transmission support and a full 3" browser helps make your mobile Internet experience complete. Phones in Japan are way more advanced that what we have here Stateside, so it remains to be seen whether this will be able to make a splash in the market when released.

Water Resistance Treadmills for Dogs
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Water resistance treadmills has gone up another notch, but this time the beneficiaries won't be humans but dogs. It makes me wonder whether dogs aren't getting enough exercise these days, considering us humans ourselves are suffering from an obese epidemic in developed countries. Most of the time, fat people tend to rear fat dogs, and the same applies for fit and trim folks who love bringing their pets out with them for funs. Guess the water resistance treadmill for dogs is a shortcut to a healthy and happy dog.
Diamond Simulation Flight Simulator
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Diamond Simulation has a new generation of flight simulators that fall under the wings (no pun intended) of D-SIM-NG. These simulators will comprise of newer and more powerful P2/P3 software, a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit, the Tropos 1000 visual system and the True Environment ATC simulation program. The Tropos holds the distinction of being the only image generator developed using off-the-shelf graphic processors that is able to generate runway lighting realistically. This won't be available to the masses as it will probably be way out of the average household's budget, but it makes me sleep better knowing that folks trained to fly planes are given the very best equipment possible.
USB Smart Dog Hub
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Dogs are smart animals, so it makes sense that their technological counterparts carry some semblance of intelligence as well like how the USB Smart Dog Hub is. It comes with a rectangular-shaped head which can be detached (creepy!), providing you with an instant portable radio complete with auto-scan capability from 88MHz to 108MHz. Connecting it back to its body will turn it into a computer speaker (albeit a lousy one) as well. There are two USB 2.0 ports on each side of this digital pooch. The USB Smart Dog Hub will retail for $19.15.

Remote Control Drinks Cooler
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

I suppose it is widely documented that hardcore drinkers often come with a beer belly, evidence of years of boozing. Eventually, this group will evolve into a couch potato, gaining weight on a steady diet of TV programs, pizza and beer. This makes walking over to the fridge to bust open a new six-pack sound as challenging as climbing Mount Everest, which is why the Remote Control Drinks Cooler is heaven sent. Not that the celestial powers up there would want to see you in such a sorry state though, but at least you don't have to move unless you really have to. The remote control has a working range of 30 feet, and the Drinks Cooler itself can hold up to a dozen beer bottles or 10 cans. It will cost £39.95, making it perfect for Father's Day next month.
Klipsch Palladium P-39F Speakers
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Klipsch is a name synonymous with great sounding audio, and the Palladium P-39F doesn't only offer superb audio but it does so with a clear conscience. I say so because it comes clad in a "Linia" veneer, which is available in three different finishes and proves to be a very close match to rare zebrawood. After all, it was carefully hand-selected and made from real trees in government-sanctioned controlled harvests - sounds more like a jam advertisement, hand-picked berries and all that jazz. The only drawback is the price - you would have to be loaded in order to afford the £7,685 asking price.
nUCLEUS Bike Concept
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

At first glance, this doesn't even look remotely close to a motorcycle - the nUCLEUS concept takes on the "Square against Air" electric motorcycle design, hoping to make things more aerodynamic for the masses should this actually roll out of a factory somewhere. You get a thin, comfortable saddle as well as horse-like behavior that lowers itself when idle and raises when in motion. These pieces of metal are but blades from the front, and I have absolutely no idea how this will fare at high speeds, assuming it can even go that fast in the first place. Definitely not something you would want to use when picking ladies up from the club on Saturday nights.
Cuusoo Concept Phone
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

The Cuusoo concept phone that you see here heralds from Japan, boasting a detachable screen portion that allows one to hold video phone calls on-the-go. I'm surprised with the technology that we have at the moment, something like this has not been realized yet. I presume that battery issues could be the main stumbling block though, since a screen does sip a significant amount of juice, even more so when it needs to transmit data wirelessly from the main handset. I like the way different attachments can be added to the concept handset, allowing one to turn it into a widescreen display or a dual screen viewer.
Sonoro Audio Cubo now Out
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Sonoro Audio's Cubo has finally arrived on US shores, after Europeans and Canadians have enjoyed it for some time now. The Cubo is but an AM/FM clock radio complete with a CD player, but I think this might be a case of a little too late. After all, how many people still have their CD collection in the bedroom? Thankfully there is MP3 playback capability, so perhaps the only kind of music you'll enjoying are those with a lower bitrate compared to CD-quality audio. Good thing it comes in a great looking package which might actually persuade some to part with $349.99 for it.

WowWee Chatterbot
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Desktop toys are a welcome distraction at work, and the WowWee Chatterbot would make a good candidate for your next purchase. Available in Devil/Angel, Dog, and the Fairy Godfather models, the $49.99 Chatterbot are USB-powered animated computer accessories which are able to tell jokes, dialog (no idea up to what level) with you as well as comment on whatever you're typing on the computer at the moment. It functions well with email, calendar and instant messaging applications among others, boasting a tiny speaker too. Apparently the trigger responsiveness is not up to par at the moment, so hopefully WowWee will be able to roll out an update in the near future.
65nm Xbox 360s to hit in August
Story posted on: May 08, 2008

Word on the street has it that the first 65nm GPU chip equipped Xbox 360, known as Jasper, will be out in August. This is an improvement to the current generation of 360s, also known as the Falcon, which features a 65nm CPU but has a larger GPU. There will be two main advantages with the release of the Jasper - you will get cooler and quieter Xbox 360s as you continue gaming. Will the Xbox 360 run out of steam by then, and is this a case of a little too late? After all, the tide is beginning to swing in the PS3's favor.
