03/06/2014, CES 2014 has come and gone, and that was when Sharp of Japan introduced a slew of new HDTVs for the masses under their Aquos branding. Well, we are glad to bring you word that some of the announced devices have started to become available for purchase for those of us living in the good ol’ US of A. For instance, the Sharp Quattron+ range can be purchased if you […]
06/26/2013, Sharp AQUOS Ultra HD LED TV is now available.
11/29/2012, We first caught wind of the Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W when it was reviewed earlier this month by a Russian site. We also mentioned that the device will be released in Russia first before launching to other markets. True enough, Sharp’s first ever phone with a 1920 x 1080 display is now making its way to Hong Kong and it will most probably be available there next month. Sharp Hong […]
11/16/2012, The HTC Droid DNA and HTC J Butterfly are not the only devices in the market to carry a 5-inch, 1080p display, as Sharp themselves, who supplied HTC with these delightful screens, have come up with their very own Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W which was reviewed by the Russian site Mobile Review. Apart from the 5” display with unprecedented pixel density for smartphones, it will come with the Android 4.1 […]
10/17/2012, All right, your eyes might go a little bit bonkers there, but what we are trying to do is draw your attention to the Sharp Aquos Pad SHT21. It carries the new IGZO LCD technology from Sharp, and according to Japanese carrier KDDI, the Sharp Aquos Pad SHT21 is tipped to debut this coming middle of December, where the 7” tablet is touted to come with more than double the […]
02/16/2012, Heads up to our readers in Japan, if you’re in the market for a new smartphone or tablet with waterproof features, you might be interested in checking out a couple of new Android releases on Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. The carrier has recently launched two new devices: a smartphone in the form of the Sharp AQUOS SH-06D, and the Medias Tab N-06D Android tablet.
01/11/2012, [CES 2012] When we were at Sharp’s press conference a couple of days ago, we saw the Sharp Aquos Board that was paraded but for a moment. Meant to be a digital whiteboard for the office (or just for anyone who wants to get their life organized), this unique board has a built-in computer that provides the relevant processing power to have it accept doodles as you can see above, […]
12/19/2011, Sharp has been putting out some pretty interesting Android handsets in their AQUOS series of Android smartphones. Their offerings usually go beyond the standard full touch screen and they usually incorporate feature phone-like designs, such as sliders and clamshell designs with numeric keypads.
12/09/2011, Just the other day we reported that Sharp unveiled what they were calling the world’s thinnest smartphone camera. In terms of hardware, it’s essentially a 12MP camera sensor that features optical image stabilization and is less than 5.5mm thick. While it has yet to make its way into the phones/tablets of some of the bigger brands such as Samsung, LG, Motorola or HTC, it has found its way into the […]
12/01/2011, Once again it appears that Japan seems to be getting their hands on cooler technology ahead of the rest of the world. Sharp has been working on what they’re calling the “world’s thinnest optically image-stabilized smartphone camera”, which is a 12.1MP, 1/3.2” shooter that measures a mere 11.0×11.0×5.47mm. On top of that it will feature a backlit module, provide image stabilization and to top it all of, will have the […]
11/25/2011, Japan sure does get quite a few cool smartphones, although hopefully this particular model by Sharp could be making its way stateside if its FCC filing is any indication. We had previously reported on the Sharp Aquos SH-01D Android smartphone and how it was spotted in an FCC filing, but in a press release by NTT DoCoMo today, it looks like the phone will be headed to Japan first before […]
11/11/2011, A recent FCC filing has revealed that the Sharp Aquos SH-01D may be headed our way soon. The device was originally announced in Japan, and half the time those phones never make it stateside, which is kind of a pity since some of Japan’s smartphone offerings are usually on the more interesting side.
09/29/2011, Sharp sure is on a roll with new Android devices lately. The company has just introduced a new handset to its AQUOS PHONE lineup. Called the AQUOS PHONE 102SH, this sleek looking phone was recently introduced in Japan and will be carried by SoftBank, so it probably won’t make its way to the US – at least not anytime soon, but it packs specs and looks similar to the AQUOS […]
09/29/2011, Continents are bridged as NTT DoCoMo of Japan and Orange have come together to work on a new 3D smartphone that will arrive in Europe – France specifically, thanks to hardware provided by Sharp in the form of the Sharp Aquos Phone SH80F. Of course, if that is a mouthful to speak (and remember), perhaps a more abbreviated SH-12C would be more advisable? The Aquos Phone SH80F will feature a […]
