04/30/2010, Not everybody seems to be making full use of Verizon’s Push-to-Talk (PTT) service, as it has been active for a while now but Verizon still feels that it needs to notify Tour users that they can get the service free for life. Tour owners only need to add the PTT software and service to their device before June 30th to be able to keep it free for the life of […]
03/29/2010, Now here’s confirmation on news that we posted about last week – Verizon has thrown in push-to-talk support to the BlackBerry Tour amongst other features. Apart from that, this new update will also offer folks who use regular BlackBerry Internet Service as well as the Enterprise Serve the option of chatting instantly with up to 50 other PTT phone users. Instead of iDEN, the BlackBerry relies on 3G connectivity to […]
03/27/2010, Folks who own a Verizon branded BlackBerry Tour 9630 should be happy to hear that there should be an official OS update this coming Monday. What the exact version of the OS isn’t entirely clear, but speculation is that it’s OS 126.96.36.1991. Either way, it looks like we’ll be able to check it out on Monday. Improvements should include:
03/16/2010, It seems that Verizon’s Blackberry Tour will be getting the Push to Talk (PTT) feature sometime in the near future, thanks to a leaked PDF that has surfaced. According to the information leaked, PTT will be available as a $5 add-on feature, which should be going official later this month or in early April. Features of the PTT information leaked include:
03/12/2010, If you happen to own a BlackBerry Tour 9630 and are feeling a little bit more adventurous compared to other smartphone owners, why not give the OS 188.8.131.528 leak a go? After all, this is not an official release, so the chances of things running awry is much higher than that of Iraq carrying WMDs all those years back. Installation of this OS leak is done at your own peril, […]
02/11/2010, BlackBerry Tour 9630 users who are on Sprint’s network will want to take note. Sprint has officially launched the OS 184.108.40.2064 update. The download link hasn’t been updated just yet, as this is just hot out of the oven, but it should show up on the BlackBerry Software Downloads page real soon. Have you been waiting for this update, or do you think that it’s just another unnecessary update for […]
11/05/2009, Feeling rather flush at the moment? You might want to consider the 24kt Gold Blackberry Tour 9630 then, where it will come fully unlocked alongside the option to throw in customized logos and jewels as well if you happen to have additional slush funds to spare. Another good point about this is, you can always pawn it off once you’re done with the handset as the gold can probably be […]
10/28/2009, A video of the Blackberry Tour 2 (now with WIFI and a trackpad). The current codename for this product is “essex”, and it might be called BlackBerry Tour 2, or something else, we just don’t know. Besides from the addition of WIFI and the trackpad (many customers complain that the trackball gets eventually tuck with dust) there’s apparently nothing new, so we’ll call this a minor update. 10/08/2009, US Cellular will be offering the BlackBerry Tour 9630 later this month, although there is no specific release date stated just yet. Any one going to pick this puppy up, or are you just looking forward to the Bold 2?
09/17/2009, The BlackBerry Tour is not exactly the hottest selling product on the market right now, but that’s a good thing since Research in Motion will have enough time to do something about the physical design defect of a trackball that gets clogged up all too easily, requiring users to clean it on a frequent basis to keep it going. The Tour has so far experienced up to a 50% return […]
08/10/2009, The folks at ColorWare has done their bit to expand the love of colors to the BlackBerry Tour, and this is pretty speedy considering the smartphone didn’t even make it out for more than a month already. ColorWare is willing to take your Tour and give you a custom color coating of your choice for $129, while you can pick up a customized design from them directly for $750, with […]
08/07/2009, Protective cases for your devices do not come with a better pedigree compared to Otterbox, and the company has just unveiled a new range of cases for the BlackBerry Tour smartphone. These cases will not only provide adequate protection from knocks and drops, it also ensures all keys and ports remain accessible whenever the phone is in the case, complete with a built-in belt clip. It is made from silicone […]

You will need to fork out $249.99 for the BlackBerry Tour, while the HTC Snap is much cheaper at just $29.99 (albeit with a contract). Apart from those, there is no word on other pricing options, but rumors point to a […]
07/01/2009, We’ve known for a while that the BlackBerry Tour would be available at Sprint for $199 (w/ 2yr contract), but the date is now official: it’s July 12. It’s actually the same offer (and the same day) then what Verizon has, but it’s the best BlackBerry offering for both carriers. Official page.
