10/16/2012, While the board of executives from both Deutsche Telekom and MetroPCS have given the deal their blessing, we guess there were some shareholders who weren’t too pleased about it. It seems that some of MetroPCS’ shareholders have filed a lawsuit against T-Mobile USA, Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile USA’s parent company), and MetroPCS for apparently undervaluing the company. The deal is expected to bump share prices to $12.48, which apparently the shareholders […]
08/15/2012, While the next-gen iPhone has yet to receive an official release date, let alone an official announcement, it seems that carriers in Europe are at it again. European carrier, Deutsche Telekom have reportedly (via iPhone-ticker.de)begun offering their customers pre-order tickets through their distribution partners. This basically guarantees customers that they will receive the iPhone the minute it becomes available. These tickets are given on a first-come-first-serve basis so if you’re […]
05/25/2012, As we’re sure that most you guys are aware by now, AT&T’s attempt to buyout T-Mobile failed. Ever since then, there have been rumors that suggested that T-Mobile USA’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom, was looking for alternatives. We’ve heard talks of possible mergers, and at one point it was even suggested that T-Mobile and MetroPCS were in talks about a possible merger. So far all these rumors have been rumors […]
02/16/2012, AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile USA was fraught with obstacle after obstacle, from their competitors objecting to the merger, to the US Department of Justice saying no as well. While that surely must have stung for AT&T, T-Mobile USA did walk away with a pretty tidy sum which was guaranteed to them should the merger fall through. Since Deutche Telekom failed to sell of T-Mobile USA, recent reports are suggesting that […]
01/19/2012, Apple’s FaceTime could be considered to be equivalent to making video calls, a feature that was available on older phone models. However oddly enough the FaceTime feature was only accessible over a WiFi connection as opposed to 3G. Some have argued that this is because it would eat up too much data, while others claim that 3G connections might be too slow to provide a consistent FaceTime experience.
12/01/2011, It’s starting to look like the AT&T acquisition of T-Mobile will not go through. Facing strong opposition from their competition and even the government, there’s a good chance that this merger will not be happening any time soon, but according to unnamed sources who claim to be familiar with the matter, AT&T and Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile USA’s parent company) have discussed alternatives should the deal fall through.
10/21/2011, One of the reasons why the AT&T and T-Mobile deal has not gone through, despite it being announced months ago, is that not just their competitors, but antitrust regulators who feel that through AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile, competition will essentially be dead, at least as far as the small carriers are concerned. One of the ways that AT&T has tried to appease the courts and their competition is by offering […]
09/08/2011, There have been many rumors circulating regarding Apple’s next-generation iPhone. As to whether you buy into the rumors or not, it is almost certain that Apple will be pushing out a new iPhone this year, at least that’s what they should be doing if they don’t want a bunch of their users to jump ship onto Android or Windows Phone 7.
09/06/2011, Rumors of the iPhone 5 launching in October are starting to get serious. Originally rumored for a September, it seems that October is looking more and more likely. Earlier today we reported that a Best Buy leak suggested a 21st of October release, and now it looks like Deutsche Telekom is also thinking along the same lines.
02/15/2011, [MWC 2011] Deutsche Telekom, the parent company of T-Mobile, has announced that it’ll begin to launch NFC payment systems for phones across multiple markets this year and will have a full deployment in 2012. T-Mobile USA is going to be involved in the fun via the Isis initiative announced a while back in partnership with AT&T and Verizon. NFC contactless payment systems are something that should be increasingly popular over […]
