D-Link Corporation was founded in the year 1986 in Taipei, Taiwan. Seven people founded the company that was then called  Datex Systems Inc. D-Link went public in 1994 and became the first networking company in the Taiwan Stock Exchange. During the same year, it officially changed its name from Datex Systems Inc to D-Link Corporation. D-Link specializes in developing products for the networking and communications market. It includes network adapters, switches, routers, IP cameras, USB Hubs, media players, bridges, network cameras, and the like. D-Link also collaborated with Boxee and jointly released the Boxee Box.
