Asus showcases new models
Posted on March 2, 2010 8:00 AM

Asus is certainly going all out at CeBIT as well this year, showcasing some concept models which tickle the imagination. Not all of these concepts will hit the market as full fledged products though, but one of them which we're interested in would be the Eee Top. This all-in-one machine does come with a 23.6" display with full HD capability, a 3D-ready feature and multi-touch support. You will also be happy as it handles Blu-ray playback effortlessly, running on a range of Intel i3, i5 and i7 processors. Since this is a prototype, expect Asus to throw in other high end features such as USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, HDMI, VGA, power connector, Ethernet and satellite TV.

Asus has rolled out its EeeTop ET1610PT all-in-one computer, where the 'T' at the end points to a 15.6" touchscreen display at 1,600 x 900 resolution. Apart from that, it is also equipped with an Intel GMA X3150 graphics chipset alongside an Intel Atom D410 processor to run the proceedings from within. Other options include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, half a dozen USB 2.0 ports, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, a 0.3-megapixel webcam and an Ethernet port. While it ships with Windows XP, you can still fork out a fee to get it up and running with Windows 7 (to take full advantage of the display, of course). Expect it to hit Europe soon for under the 400 Euro mark.
Asus All-in-One PC to get Ion 2

Word has it that Asus will be rolling out their 20" Eee Top ET2010PNT to feature Intel's Atom D510 dual-core processor and Nvidia's GeForce G310 graphics chip within, where the latter has its roots in Nvidia's 40nm DirectX 10.1-ready GeForce 210 GPU. Nice to see all-in-one machines getting more processing muscle, as that might mean they move up a notch in terms of useability as gamers could look to those as a casual gaming machine if they're not too interested in having the best frame rates in the highest video quality possible each time they booth up their favorite gaming title.

Asus has set its sights on the US by unveiling a trio of new Eee Top all-in-ones, including the standard ET2002 and touchscreen-capable ET2002T which are powered by NVIDIA's Ion hybrid graphics and system controller. These two models offer superior graphics performance compared to what Intel can offer with their graphical chipset. These two 20" models will also push the performance envelop where nettops are concerned thanks to dual-core 1.6GHz Atom processors, 2GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive and a DVD burner to accompany the standard Wi-Fi N connectivity and built-in webcam. As for the larger 22" ET2203T model which features a touchscreen, where one gets a speedier gaming-grade Radeon HD 4570 graphics chipset that is able to decode HD video on the go, powered by a Core 2 Duo notebook processor alongside the option for a Blu-ray drive.

Asus' latest Eee Top ET2002T is an all-in-one desktop PC that comes with a 20" 1,600 x 900 resolution display, while featuring a dual core Atom 330 processor for added punch alongside NVIDIA's ION graphics chipset that is more than capable of handling all of your living room entertainment with aplomb. A built-in DVD burner allows you to relive your catalog of old discs from time to time, although we suspect that many others won't mind taking a stab at Hulu with this. Other specifications include 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive and an HDMI input. Expect the Asus Eee Top ET2002T to arrive in Europe within the next few weeks for approximately €598.
