01/02/2014, Vaping is a pretty popular activity these days and is used by cigarette smokers as a way to kick the habit. Given that vapers have the choice of not adding nicotine in their mixes, it is also a fun past time for non-smokers to get in on as well. Of course there is debate over potential health and safety concerns of vaping, but that’s a debate for another time. Now […]
03/19/2013, Cult-classic Nintendo Gamecube title Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem seems to still be in the mind of Nintendo as the company recently extended its trademark for the game. The trademark was submitted back in December, but an eagle-eyed NeoGAF user was able to spot the trademark extension this past week. This doesn’t necessarily mean a sequel is in the works, but considering Nintendo will be remaking The Legend of Zelda: The […]
01/08/2012, If you want something done (your way), then doing it yourself is the best way to go. I know that the Nintendo Gamecube has been reimagined a few times by those with a knack for DIY projects, and ModRetro member Jonathan Shine has decided to turn the Gamecube into a portable version known as the Envision Gamecube. Doing so on your own is no mean task to begin with, but […]
12/27/2011, If you’re a fan of the Nintendo GameCube and wish you could game on the go, you could get the Sly Cube. It comes with a custom 7″ LCD flip screen, a built-in 7.2v 600 mha lithium-ion battery (3-4 hours of game time), a built in controller and ports for […]
08/19/2011, A couple of days back we reported that Nintendo had announced a new look for their Wii gaming console. At the time of writing it was unclear as to whether Nintendo would keep the price similar to the current version of the Wii, or if it would see a price drop.
06/30/2011, When the Wii was released, game developers and fitness institutions started seeing potential use of the Wii for exercise and fitness related games. One of those games/peripherals was the Cyberbike which was developed by Bigben Interactive, which the company teased the public with two years ago.
08/11/2010, Here’s a rather interesting controller mod. Modder Hasse has a brother with a disability and is only able to use one hand. With that in mind, he set out to create a Gamecube controller that can be controlled by using just one hand. It involved installing a motion sensor and some LED lights to indicate which direction the directional pad was being pushed towards, but it seemed to work out […]
03/15/2010, Nice to see enterprising modders take the initiative to come up with superior models of old classics, including this Gamecube model which from Techknott which comes in an eye-catching design. Gotta love the way the flip top display keeps the optical drive well hidden away from open eyes. For those who are interested to see and know more on how it works, well, why not check out the video above?
11/09/2009, Here’s one of the best mods we’ve seen to the GameCube so far – the NCube. It will load stock discs from an exposed spinning disc drive, where the innards are basically ripped out from an original GameCube. Within the chassis would be Datamax Kid’s Delight, a Dreamcast Quantam Fighterpad, a 3rd party Wii Classic controller and components from the PSOne portable screen.
