Garmin Asus M10 helps you get around
Posted on February 11, 2010 7:47 AM

Garmin and Asus' latest collaboration does not stop at the A50 only, but also resulted in the M10. Instead of running on the Android operating system, this model comes with the latest build of Microsoft's Windows Mobile, making it the second WinMo 6.5.3 device around (the first being the Sony Ericsson Aspen). Underneath the hood, the Garmin Asus M10 will feature a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM 7227 processor (sorry, not 1GHz Snapdragon here), 512MB RAM as well as ROM, 4GB of internal memory, a 3.5" WVGA resolution touchscreen display, integrated turn-by-turn navigation and location awareness for virtually everything the phone does. It is set to hit the worldwide market in the first half of this year, although we do look forward in seeing how it runs at Mobile World Congress 2010 next week in Barcelona, Spain. [Press Release]
Garmin M10 gets Windows Mobile 6.5.3 upgrade
Posted on February 4, 2010 6:27 AM

The relatively low key Garmin M10 smartphone is yet another handset that has received the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 upgrade, giving this 600MHz Qualcomm processor-powered device a more potent punch. Just to refresh your memory, the M10 is equipped with a 3.5" WVGA resistive screen display, 4GB of internal memory and a 5-megapixel camera. Needless to say, before taking that upgrade plunge, it is always advisable to make a backup of all your data lest something goes wrong somewhere.
MWC sees Garmin-Asustek phone release
Posted on January 21, 2010 1:33 AM

The upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) will be the platform where Garmin-Asustek's Android-powered collaboration take the centerstage, and it won't be the last one for 2010 either as there will be another four to five new new Windows Mobile or Android phones targeted to roll out this year. Rumor has it that this Garmin-Asustek partnership will feature a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.5" resistive touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, a 5-megapixel camera and GPS support with a February launch date in mind for the price of $435 thereabouts. If you're going to be in Europe next month, why not check to see if your calendar can accommodate a visit to MWC to check out the latest in mobile communications?
Garmin Asus To Launch Nuviphone In Asia
Posted on July 24, 2009 10:35 AM

After an extremely long wait (too long for some in the industry, it seems), Garmin Asus aims to make their partnership an extremely fruitful one by announcing the availability of a couple of their handsets, namely the G60 and M20. Both models will arrive in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia sometime next month, all powered by Windows Mobile, while the Linux-powered G60 is hitting Taiwan within the next three days, followed by a release in Singapore and Malaysia before August is over. Folks living in Europe will have to wait until 2H 2009, with no mention about us poor folks living Stateside. We do hope the final price point isn't going to cause an even bigger strain on our monthly budget though. [Press Release]
Garmin Asus G60 Hitting The Streets This August

The long protracted Garmin Asus G60 nuviphone is beginning to feel as though it is the hardware equivalent of Duke Nukem Forever, but we have news that the smartphone will arrive sometime in the second half of this year (fingers crossed). Not only that, their collaboration will also see that only Android and Windows Mobile operating systems will be used in upcoming devices. Well, the long overdue G60 won't be that cutting edge any more the longer its release is delayed, so the faster, the better, eh?
Garmin Asus Android Smartphone Coming Next Year
Posted on June 2, 2009 5:47 PM

Looks like we'll all have to wait a little bit longer - at least half a year, before Garmin and Asus' partnership yield fruit in the form of an Android-powered smartphone. Frankly, the delays that plague this handset could yet do them in as there will be other Android smartphones rolled out before that. Chances are this will be a remake of the device that Garmin has failed to launch this year, so hopefully the added time given to the team will yield some positive end results instead of being a disappointment.
