01/03/2014, It certainly seems like 2014 is off to a series of hacks. 11/21/2011, Sometimes waiting for your food to microwave could take a while, especially if you use it to defrost, so how about watching some videos while waiting for the microwave to finish? A group of students at the University of Pennsylvania have come up with such a hack for your microwave oven. Called the μWave, it combines an Arduino with a TouchPad that has been taped to the microwave door.
11/14/2011, Just last week we reported on how a group of hackers supposedly figured out a way to control the Siri function on the iPhone 4S by using their brainwaves. It was the stuff out of science fiction, and to be honest giving the pace that we are advancing in terms of technology, it wasn’t really a stretch of the imagination to picture that something like this could be possible “one […]
11/11/2011, Prior to the Motorola Droid RAZR being released, many had assumed that the 1-click root method would work for the Droid RAZR as well, but as it turns out that does not appear to be the case. For those unaware, the Motorola Droid RAZR will not be able to be rooted by using the 1-click root method, but fortunately it looks like the Android community has proven their dedication and […]
09/06/2011, McAfee has published a report called “Caution, Malware Ahead”, which describes security threats in auto information systems. There is no doubt that we live in a world where the number of connected devices is set to explode. If you think that it has already exploded, wait and see what the next 10 years will look like. Last year, there was 1 Billion connected devices, and Ericsson expect that we’ll have […]
08/29/2011, Last week we reported that there an auction going on eBay for a HP TouchPad that supposedly was running on Froyo 2.2, and at that time of reporting it was priced at $685. 08/22/2011, The premier hacker’s toolkit known as SpyEye has recently been made available to all aspiring cybercriminals, and in view of this, security analysts have sounded the alarms – although it is a sad thing to look forward to an uptick in SpyEye attacks for the rest of 2011. 08/18/2011, Is Facebook really that hack-proof? Apparently, a student hacker was said to have successfully “penetrated” Facebook after performing repeated attempts to illegally access the social networking site’s programmes – at least according to a court heard that was held yesterday. The ruling that comes out from this case will definitely set a precedent since this is one of the first cases of its kind in Britain, where Glenn Steven Mangham, […]
08/04/2011, Security experts could be part of what they deem to be the largest coordinated attack launched to date by hackers, and to make matters more grave, this has been happening for at least five years – where said hackers have wormed their way into computer networks of thousands of companies, organizations and governments, carting away digital intellectual property, military information and state secrets in the process.
07/07/2011, Usually when it comes to driving games, using a steering wheel controller is generally more preferred than using a gamepad, as we’re guessing it feels more “realistic” and offers up better control. If that is true, then how do you gamers out there feel about this mod that uses the Xbox Kinect to simulate you holding a steering wheel?
07/05/2011, All of a sudden, hacking has received plenty of news coverage, (no) thanks to Sony’s security breach followed by plenty of other instances in recent months. Well, the entire hacking keyword isn’t going to fade into the limelight anytime soon, what with hackers having seized control of a PayPal Twitter feed earlier today, sending out messages which criticized the payment processor. This is the second attack of its type in […]
07/05/2011, Alarm clocks are designed to wake people up, but yet there are some of us who despite waking up to the first ring of the alarm, somehow manage to fall back to sleep again, thinking to ourselves “Another 10 minutes and I’ll be up,” which usually turns into an hour, making us late for whatever we were supposed to do.
