09/08/2011, We all know how Kodak is synonymous with photographs, but they do have some digital cameras as well as printers that you might want to take note of – not because those are special in any way, but rather, it is another source of revenue. Well, Kodak might be taking the printer line more seriously with the latest release of printers that are all Cloud Print-friendly – not to mention […]
10/07/2010, [CEATEC 2010] Yamaha was showing its infosound demo at CEATEC. The prototype embeds data in audio media like music, video clips, radio or whichever audio support that you can think of. The principle is very simple: Yamaha encodes data in audio frequencies that you can’t hear. If you could hear it, it would most likely resemble a Fax/Modem sound. On the show floor, Yamaha had an iPhone app called “infosound” […]
09/27/2010, The HTC Hero comes in a different form factor as it has a curved bottom, something that makes it instantly recognizable at first glance. Well, Telus has just announced that they will be discontinuing this smartphone after being made available to the public since November last year. An 11 month run isn’t exactly that long, and to see it discontinued so soon means the phone isn’t doing well at all […]
07/28/2010, This is probably the kind of stunt that will have tongues wagging away, and that was probably the idea when AT&T decided to prop up a mysterious monolith display at stores across the country, apparently dubbed the “Hero” display, and states “innovation comes to life” and “Rethink Possible”, which has been AT&T’s slogan recently. Hopefully it’s a cool new handset, perhaps the BlackBerry 9800 slider, though some folks are also […]
06/28/2010, HTC Hero owners in the UK have started receiving the Android 2.1 update, although getting this over-the-air is no mean feat considering the rather weighty 79.88MB download, so it is highly recommended for you to take the Wi-Fi route, regardless of whether you’re subscribing to an unlimited data plan or not. For those who have already taken the plunge, it will basically offer the functionality of a HTC Legend. It […]
06/27/2010, Looks like owners of the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment from Sprint will be stuck with Android 2.1 forever, as Sprint recently issued an announcement confirming such devastating news. Of course, those who picked up the EVO 4G will be spared of the blushes, since an update to Android 2.2 is expected in the near future without any concrete date assigned just yet. Here’s a question for mobile carriers who […]
06/03/2010, This certainly isn’t going to be the type of news that Sprint wants on the eve of its HTC EVO 4G launch, but what has happened has happened. A source who managed to gain root access to the HTC EVO 4G has had some rather unpleasant things to say about Sprint’s customization to the Android OS, claiming that it was bad enough that an Android app would be able to […]
05/19/2010, At long last, the HTC Hero from Sprint will be getting its official Android 2.1 update, letting you be on par (with a greater peace of mind) with those who too the plunged with the leaked 2.1 firmware. Since the update is now available from Sprint, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and make the jump – just ensure you perform a backup of your data since you can’t […]
05/07/2010, Sprint has just announced that they will be making available the Android 2.1 update for the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero sometime in Q2 this year, and here’s what they have to say about it. We wanted to let you know that Sprint continues to work closely with Samsung and HTC to deliver the highly anticipated Android 2.1 upgrade for Samsung Moment and HTC Hero. We are on track for […]
04/15/2010, The HTC Hero has gotten yet another clone, this time round it looks more or less similar physically as with the Asia Pacific version of the HTC Hero (the one endowed with the chin), alongside Huawei Hisilicon’s top-of-the-line K3 533MHz processor which is a good 5MHz faster than the original HTC Hero’s 528MHz Qualcomm chip. Apart from that, you get 256MB of internal memory with an interface which is similar […]
01/27/2010, It is rather sad to note that the 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 updates for the HTC Hero have seen repeated delays which certainly doesn’t leave a good taste in the mouth of its customers, although those delays have a very good reason – HTC aims to make them work nicely with the handset upon release so that there is nothing gimped about it. Well, the latest news has it that […]
11/30/2009, Someone spotted the HTC Hero which is running on Android 2.1, which more or less confirms that Google has a minor update in the works for their Eclair update. The interface doesn’t look too changed from its 1.5 version, and we still have no idea when all of it will be available since other carrier-branded versions might have to wait for a fair bit.
11/23/2009, For those of you owning HTC phones running Google’s Android, HTC has released an updated version of the HTC Sync software. The latest version (2.0.8) features minor upgrades such as media enhancements and synchronizing with your PC’s time. If you feel that those aren’t important to you, then you could always skip the update. But find out more on the update here.
10/19/2009, There’s a flurry of Android phones out there and not so long ago but the HTC Hero is different not only because it has a better physical design, but also because it has HTC Sense, a proprietary user interface extension that only HTC-branded phones have (unlike the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G, which is a white label phone). Yet, you can expect all the advantages that come with an Android phone: very […]
