08/25/2011, With the HP TouchPad on sale for $99, it’s pretty much impossible to get your hands on one at this point of time, let alone a white-colored version of the tablet. Well, one lucky webOSroundup forum member managed to snag one before HP announced the discontinuation of webOS devices and started recalling them from stores nationwide. He had placed the order the day it went up for sale in the […]
08/25/2011, The HP TouchPad has been selling like hotcakes ever since the company announced a massive price cut for it, and there were plans afoot to roll out TouchDroid – which is an Android version meant to run on the HP TouchPad and continue where the webOS failed to take off. It seems that this particular project has hit a snag, no thanks to an alleged misrepresentation by one of the […]
08/25/2011, Having a 6-pack is somewhat of a fantasy for geeks, but for those who recently got an HP Touchpad, possibly at a deep discount, there’s another kind of 6-pack that is more attainable: the free Touchpad apps that HP is giving away for free, and for a limited time. Here is the list, along with the promo codes (USA only). IF you can’t get enough, HP has said that a […]
08/25/2011, HP TouchPad Review - It may look strange to post a review of a dead product, but, hell, it was almost finished when the news broke, and it might make a great digital obituary
08/25/2011, We have heard about the TouchDroid project, but could the HP TouchPad that you see on the right actually be one of the rare models out there that runs on Android 2.2 Froyo – natively, sans the need for an emulator? Perhaps, according to a buyer of one of those super cheap TouchPads who picked up his copy from Best Buy a couple of days ago. This has yet to […]
08/23/2011, Despite’s HP’s plans to terminate webOS devices, it looks like not all hope is lost for consumers who own those devices. One of the tablet’s main problems at launch was its inability to edit documents from the tablet itself. Despite the fact that most people use their tablets for content consumption and not creation, a lot of consumers felt that the ability to edit documents on the go was a […]
08/23/2011, Guess the massive price cut in the discontinued HP TouchPad has proved to be a rather popular move, so popular in fact that it has done quite an impressive job in evaporating off shelves in the UK. Further investigation was done at various web sites including Currys, PC World and Dixons, where they introduced the newly discounted price points at 6pm, and all these sits seemed to experience a slowdown […]
08/21/2011, The folks at Rootzwiki have started Touchdroid, a project that aims at running Android on the HP Touchpad. At the moment, the plan is to use Gingerbread (Android 2.3) as Honeycomb‘s code (Android 3.0) is not yet available to the public. There’s no telling how long the project will take, or if it will be successful at all, but booting Android will be the most important step (obviously). Some users […]
08/21/2011, This week, HP announced that its TouchPad tablets would be receiving a massive price reduction, with the price of the 16GB version dropping to only $99. While most consumers seemed pretty pleased – after all, they could finally try out a webOS device without investing too much. But there was a group of people who weren’t too pleased about the price cut – the early adopters of the HP TouchPad.
08/19/2011, As most are aware, HP had overnight announced that they would be discontinuing webOS, and naturally this was a shock to many – potential customers, current owners of HP’s webOS tablet, the TouchPad, as well as retailers who may have placed huge orders on the TouchPad.
08/19/2011, As it was shockingly revealed, HP announced that they would be discontinuing their webOS tablets and smartphones. It seems that the reason behind this was that their platform simply could not compete with iOS and Android, thus they had to throw in the towel and minimize their losses. It also appears that the hardware that HP had given its webOS team stopped them from being creative and innovative due to […]
08/18/2011, Unicorns and the 64GB HP TouchPad – what do they have in common? Nothing as of today actually – as the latter is now the real deal, while unicorns remain a myth. HP has decided to stash away 64GB of storage space in the TouchPad – which is good and well, but how many of them do you think they will sell? After all, it isn’t to say that it […]
08/10/2011, Being an early adopter sucks sometimes – especially when the device which you picked up isn’t even a year old, and it has already experienced a permanent price cut. Some of the ‘victims’ to this unwanted phenomenon would be the Nintendo 3DS, and more recently, the HP TouchPad. The low-end TouchPad has seen its asking price slashed by a Benjamin to just $399 as this webOS-powered tablet intends to stand […]
08/08/2011, Interested in purchasing the new HP TouchPad tablet that features a faster internet connection than the one available now? Great news, because it looks like the HP TouchPad 4G could be almost upon us. The webOS 3 tablet headed for AT&T’s HSPA+ network was recently spotted as being available for pre-order on Amazon’s website. And like most 4G devices, the tablet isn’t going to come cheap. I wonder how long […]
