04/02/2010, Looks like the HTC Hero will also join the Android 2.1 club when April 16th rolls around, where it will hit handsets with the following ROMs: Nordic/Greek/RUS/UKR/SA. As for other handsets, fret not – they too will also obtain their upgrades following this rollout. Nice to see HTC being fully commited to introduce Android 2.1 to every Android smartphone that they have released in the market so far, which shows […]
03/26/2010, This is still firmly in the rumor but, but according to the supposed leak of an internal Sprint document, a maintenance release for the HTC Hero is tentatively scheduled for April 9th, and while it doesn’t directly say it’s an Android 2.1 update, the tipster suggests that the it will be the 2.1 update that we’ve all be waiting for. Of course, there isn’t any official confirmation of this, but […]
02/11/2010, While Google Nexus One and Motorola Droid users have been clamoring to get their hands on the multi-touch update for said phones, it seems that the HTC Hero has been hacked to allow multi-touch to work on it. The best part is that it isn’t some simple pinch and zoom deal that’s found on pictures and maps, this multi-touch hack was used to come up with an Exposé-like function of all […]
02/08/2010, If you’re in Russia, you might be lucky enough to receive a gift from HTC – a HTC Hero. The only downside of this wonderful gift is that it’s wholly made out of chocolate, and thus, isn’t a functional phone. It’s obviously a promotional stunt, which is rather cute. The display reads “quietly brilliant new year”, so it’s probably some kind of New Year’s gift. It seems to be exactly […]
01/27/2010, It is rather sad to note that the 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 updates for the HTC Hero have seen repeated delays which certainly doesn’t leave a good taste in the mouth of its customers, although those delays have a very good reason – HTC aims to make them work nicely with the handset upon release so that there is nothing gimped about it. Well, the latest news has it that […]
12/29/2009, Folks whose HTC Hero phones are riding on Cellular South’s network are in for a spot of good news. A recent tweet from the company confirms that the HTC Hero from Cellular South will be getting the Android 2.1 update in the first half of 2010. Of course, most of you will be hoping that it will be January 2010 and not June 2010, so keep your fingers crossed that […]
12/18/2009, Sprint has confirmed (via Twitter) that an Android update will be hitting the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero, granting both mobile phones updates to Android 2.1. It’s great to get an official confirmation on this, though it would have been ever better if we know when it would be rolled out, though we know it’s sometime during the first half of 2010. There aren’t any phones in the market that […]

According to it, the Espresso will sport a 528MHz processor, a QWERTY keyboard and a 320 x 480 display. It sure sounds like a HTC Hero with a QWERTY keyboard, doesn’t it?
11/30/2009, Someone spotted the HTC Hero which is running on Android 2.1, which more or less confirms that Google has a minor update in the works for their Eclair update. The interface doesn’t look too changed from its 1.5 version, and we still have no idea when all of it will be available since other carrier-branded versions might have to wait for a fair bit.
11/16/2009, Best Buy Mobile knows that times are hard, and they are currently offering a lower price for their HTC Hero and Samsung Moment, retailing for $99.99 after rebates and a new 2-year contract. This is a good $80 discount off the original $179 sticker price, where this deal is good till December. If you’re on the lookout for a couple of Android phones at the moment without waiting for the […]

10/29/2009, HTC is currently looking at bringing Android 2.0, also known as Eclair, to the Hero smartphone although the porting session isn’t going to be as easy as you think – the boffins at HTC will first need to make significant modifications on the Sense UI in order to provide users with a tightly integrated experience. Try not to take your time guys, as speed and accuracy are of the essence […]
10/19/2009, There’s a flurry of Android phones out there and not so long ago but the HTC Hero is different not only because it has a better physical design, but also because it has HTC Sense, a proprietary user interface extension that only HTC-branded phones have (unlike the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G, which is a white label phone). Yet, you can expect all the advantages that come with an Android phone: very […]
