12/22/2011, It looks like HTC’s streak of bad luck just got extended after the ITC ruled in Apple’s favor which would basically see the ban of some of HTC’s Android products come 2012. Now over in Germany, a patent firm by the name of IPCom has sued about 100 retailers in Germany for continuing to sell HTC products after the December 20th deadline which was handed down in a ruling by […]
12/09/2011, It looks like Apple could be in a spot of trouble here as the German courts have ruled in Motorola Mobility’s favor regarding patent infringements. The courts have granted Motorola Mobility a “preliminary enforceable” injunction against Ireland-based Apple Sales International on the grounds that some of Apple’s products may violate their patents.
11/16/2011, We know that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been banned in Germany. This is due to Apple successfully winning an injunction against Samsung, but it looks like the tablet is back with a slight change in name and a slight change in design, in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N, and in terms of design, well you can pretty much see for yourselves in the photo above.
11/08/2011, With Apple landing a successful injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Australia, this not only means that Samsung will not be able to sell the devices themselves, but that injunction will also extended to retailers and resellers as well. This did not sit well with one Australian retailer, dMavo, who claims that they are ready for a “cat and mouse game”.
11/07/2011, If you thought that Apple would be taking their loss against Motorola in a lawsuit in Germany lying down, you would be wrong as it looks like there is a good chance Apple could get the injunction against them suspended temporarily while they prepare their defense.
10/26/2011, It is rather interesting to note how Samsung fights back against Apple by attempting to get the sales of the iPhone 4S banned in select geographic ares, but somehow or rather, their attempt has backfired – at least in Italy. Should the ban have been successful, this would have meant that Apple’s latest smartphone would not have been able to roll out this coming Friday.
10/19/2011, For those following the whole patent war drama between Apple and Samsung are probably aware that Apple seems to be catching more breaks than Samsung. They have had successful injunctions against Samsung in various parts of the world, and Samsung’s had their requests for injunctions turned down. However it looks like things may start to look up for Samsung as a US judge has dismissed some of Apple’s patent infringement […]
10/18/2011, Yesterday we reported that HTC was denied their request for an injunction against Apple products in a preliminary hearing. Naturally that did not sit well with the Taiwanese handset manufacturer, and it looks like they will not be giving up and rolling over any time soon. HTC has said that they will be filing an appeal against the ruling handed out by the United States International Trade Commission, which had […]
10/17/2011, Apart from Apple vs Samsung, there’s also Apple vs Motorola and Apple vs HTC. If you have been keeping track of the rather vicious patent wars, you’ll probably recall that Google tossed HTC a couple of patents their way in order to help them with their lawsuit against Apple. Following in Samsung’s footsteps, HTC has tried to file for a preliminary injunction against Apple, but as it turns out, much […]
10/13/2011, It looks like the chasm between Apple and Samsung has widened even further as Apple picked up a victory in having its injunction against Samsung served in Australia, and here is what Samsung has to say about the situation. We are disappointed with this ruling and Samsung will take all necessary measures including legal action in order to ensure our innovative products are available to consumers. This is a part […]
10/05/2011, It looks like Samsung is keeping true to their word, and less than 24 hours after the iPhone 4S has been announced, Samsung has already filed a preliminary injunction against the device in both France and Italy, citing the same reasons that they had in the past on how Apple had infringed upon their patents.
09/23/2011, We had only just reported that Samsung had plans to take a more aggressive approach to the ongoing legal battles with Apple, and true to their word Samsung has recently launched an offensive against Apple in the Netherlands where they are seeking the ban of Apple’s smartphones and tablets.
09/12/2011, Last week we reported that the German courts upheld the injunction on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, scoring Apple a major victory. As it turns out that may be a hollow victory for Apple as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is still being sold in Germany, all thanks to a legal loophole that we’re guessing Samsung is happily making use of.
09/09/2011, We’re sure most of you guys have already heard or know this by now, that Apple has been chasing Samsung halfway across the world trying to get their Galaxy smartphones and tablets banned due to Apple claiming they were too similar in design to their iOS products, namely the iPhone and iPad. So far Apple has been successful at getting temporary injunctions but now it looks like Apple has won […]
