iPhone gets real controller in the form of iControlPad

So you're into touchscreen gaming, but there are still many others out there who feel that an old school controller would work better with some games on the iPhone. Enter the iControlPad which will finally enter the mass production stage, where one gets a quartet of buttons, two analog sticks as well as a D-Pad for you to pull off those zany moves in the upcoming Street Fighter IV title for the platform. One particular model even comes with an internal battery that will provide additional juice for your iPhone when you need it. There is one drawback though - your iPhone will need to be jailbroken beforehand if you want the iControlPad to work with it.

iControlPad iPhone controller prototype updated

The iControlPad iPhone controller prototype has just been updated to a more user-friendly format, where it has controls that have been moved from the sides of the phone to a different position at the bottom, featuring dual analog sticks and rear-mounted triggers. In fact, the size of the iControlPad seems to have grown in order to accommodate the internal battery that helps juice up your handset while you're enjoying a game of your choice on it. Actual shipping hardware is tipped to ship in the near future, so stay tuned!
