Motorola Calgary appears on Verizon system
Posted on January 21, 2010 7:01 AM

Hmmm, with such an obvious screenshot of the Motorola Calgary/Devour making an appearance on Verizon's system, it would be pretty safe to say that the smartphone will be making its way to the mentioned carrier in due time. Guess there is still time for you to make sure that you have enough balance in your bank to make a purchase if this is the handset of your dreams, otherwise you might be better off saving all that dough for the rumored Apple iSlate device.
Motorola Calgary Pictured In Silver

By now you’ve probably caught sight of Motorola’s Calgary/DROID Devour phone before, but have you seen it in silver? There still isn’t any confirmation that the device will be available in multiple colors, but seeing it in another color does get your hopes up, doesn’t it? In case you’ve forgotten, the Motorola Calgary should sport specs such as:
- Optical trackpad
- Wi-Fi
- 3-megapixel camera
- GPS
- microSDHC card slot
Verizon to offer Motorola Devour
Posted on December 18, 2009 6:38 AM

Verizon Wireless has been touted to bring the Motorola Devour to the masses, and in case the name sounds unfamiliar, perhaps the Motorola Calgary might ring a bell instead? This is touted to be a low-end alternative to the Droid, where it will come with a more basic 3-megapixel camera and a smaller display. Regardless, it should have enough muscle to run the Android 2.1 operating system when released, and holds the distinction of being one of Motorola's first handsets that will utilize its customized MOTOBLUR interface with a version of Android newer than 1.5. Looks like Verizon Wireless is slowly but surely expanding their range of Android-powered phones with the latest being the Motorola Calgary which will also be able to enjoy the MOTOBLUR social networking-like interface in lieu of the standard Android 2.0 release on the Droid. Other features available on the Motorola Calgary include an optical trackpad, a Sidekick-like design, a 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation capability and a microSDHC memory card slot. No word on pricing or availability though.
Motorola Android Bound For Verizon

Verizon looks set to offer a new Android handset from Motorola sometime in Q4 later this year, but it remains to be seen whether it will be the Motorola Calgary or not as seen in the image above. Word on the street has it that the Android-powered phone will come with a full QWERTY keyboard, coupled with Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity and a decent built-in digital camera. We want to see Motorola succeed, as it would be a sad day if this institution ever folds, so hopefully this Verizon-bound handset will offer a glimmer of hope to those in the company.
