12/15/2011, Do you watch crime shows a lot, like CSI for example? If you do, you’re probably familiar with how the crime lab technicians have this amazing ability to zoom in on photos and sharpen the images, thus revealing the face or license plate of their suspect. This technology isn’t entirely accurate but it appears that NEC is looking to turn that into a reality with the development of super-resolution technologies.

11/09/2011, So it’s your break time during office hours, and instead of heading to the break room and just lounging about, or gossiping by the water cooler, how about gathering around a huge tablet instead and playing a couple of games with your colleagues? While we’re sure that’s not what NEC had intended with the X-info table, it certainly has that potential.
10/21/2011, NEC and their pet robot project, PaPeRo, has certainly come up with a fair number of iterations to date, but somehow or rather, it has never made it past the commercialization stage. I guess all of that is about to change now as NEC’s household communication robot PaPeRo, might take that route next year – a good half a decade after this particular research and development project kicked off.

That is certainly a question worth asking, considering the number of tablet devices that have made their way to the market these days, virtually phasing out the netbook. After all, when was the last netbook announcement you read on Ubergizmo? NEC still flies the netbook flag though as they are working on a 7″ version that boasts an OLED touchscreen display that is still under development.
