09/19/2011, Google Wallet is set to launch later today – at least according to the folks at Tech Crunch who managed to get their hands on a screenshot of an internal document that’s been passed around to stores nationwide. The document clearly states that “Google Wallet is launching September 19, 2011.” which is today. No word on whether there’s going to be an event in commemoration of the launch, or just […]
08/30/2011, The Google Nexus S device has been plagued with the voice search bug since April, but little to nothing has been done to address the issue, leaving Nexus S owners frustrated, but it appears that Google has finally got around to fixing the issue and will be releasing the fix some time this week.
08/23/2011, A while back there was a lot of fuss and hype surrounding NFC technology. Granted that there is still some talk about NFC these days, but probably not on the same level a few months back when carriers were in talk with Isis and when Sprint and Google teamed up for Google Wallet.
08/18/2011, Ever come across those giant Nexus S replicas at Best Buy and Best Buy mobile stores? Have you ever wondered what it would be like, or if it was even possible to root that giant display? Well as it turns out, a YouTube user who goes by the handle halfcab123, beat you to it.
07/21/2011, While the Samsung Nexus S isn’t the newest phone on the block, that doesn’t mean it is a slouch. No sir, it is still very capable, and if Google were to release a new operating system update, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Nexus S will be one of the first models to receive it. Having arrived at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile specialty stores this coming […]
07/07/2011, Now as we all know, Google is a huge fan of NFC technology, having launched Google Wallet as well as making the Google Nexus S device NFC-enabled, so is it really a surprise that Google+ will support NFC too? Apparently not, as developer Ridzuan Ashim has found hidden NFC functionality within the Android Google+ app.
06/21/2011, When it comes to benchmarks, it is prudent to look at them in a skeptical manner at first – after all, those are under controlled conditions and might not reflect what is happening in the real world. Well, one of the latest benchmarks involve Android Community forum member Simms22 who actually pushed his Nexus S to the limit – getting a little bit of help from Cyanogen Mod 7 of […]
05/16/2011, One of the key features of Google’s latest update for Gingerbread on the Nexus S was the ability to hold native video calls through the Gtalk client. Judging from the latest reports – only users who use the app over WiFi can take part in video calls. Apparently T-Mobile has decided to block all 3G video calls from happening, and has made it available only WiFi. You might be thinking […]
05/10/2011, While we’ve seen some interesting Shanzai phones previously that improved upon their predecessors, i.e. the iPhone 4 nano or 4.8″ HTC HD7. But more often than not they just end up being a bad copy of the original device. Case in point, the recently released Samsung Nexus S clone called the K1000 D. When you think Nexus S, probably one of the following will come to mind first – its […]
05/09/2011, The Nexus S 4G from Sprint might be relatively new to the smartphone market, but that does not mean it comes updated with all of the latest software releases, right? Well, the smartphone has already been on the receiving end of a minor OTA (Over The Air – that means you need not go to a website, download an installation file or package of sorts, connect your smartphone to the […]
04/13/2011, If you’re looking for a pure Google phone with a 4G connection, you don’t really have many phones to choose from. It’s either the T-Mobile G2, the upcoming T-Mobile G2x or the Nexus S 4G on Sprint. Since the G2 is already outdated by now, and the G2x is still awhile away, the Nexus S 4G is your best bet if you want something soon. Stock Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a […]
04/01/2011, Our friends living in Canada will just have to wait for two more weeks or so before they are able to get their hands on the Google Nexus S which will have Android 2.3 Gingerbread right out of the box, as it finally makes its way to Canada. Stock of the smartphone have already been arriving at Best Buy locations throughout the Great White North, and the rest of the […]
03/28/2011, Google’s own phones, the Nexus One and Nexus S, does seem as though their ground is going to be ceded to another device – a tablet this time around, with both Google and LG working on what would very well be the first Nexus-branded tablet. This model will of course run on the latest Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system by then, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that […]
03/15/2011, Ever since Google brought the Nexus S onto the market with NFC capabilities, they’ve been pretty quiet with the pushing of NFC-services throughout the country (other than Hotspot they haven’t been doing much). But now it looks like they’re back on track with NFC again. According to a report from Bloomberg, the search engine giant will be testing a mobile-payment service at stores in New York and San Francisco sometime […]
