11/13/2009, The Palm Treo 650 is an ancient smartphone by any means, but that doesn’t mean it still cannot be tweaked as in this case. This Treo 650 has been modified to run on Android, and it remains a mystery as to how this is done while the Android operating system boots up slowly but surely. Something worth drooling over for fanboys, that’s for sure.
11/12/2009, The Palm Pixi, when priced at $100, isn’t exactly that enticing when pitted against its larger sibling known as the Pre, but Walmart clearly does the handset justice with a $30 price point for the Palm Pixi via its LetsTalk. This instant discount ought to get those sitting on the fence to make a decision quickly.
11/12/2009, Adobe has announced that Flash 10.1 will be available for the Palm WebOS platform from the first half of 2010 onwards, which is better late than never. At least it will be earlier (at press time anyways) compared to Apple iPhone users who still cannot experience such a benefit. While this applies to only the Pre and Pixi, it remains to be seen whether there will be other WebOS devices […]
11/11/2009, This is probably the coolest Palm Pre car mount out there. It’s basically Palm’s inductive Touchstone charger hooked up to the car battery, and stuck to the panel, allowing you to stick your Palm Pre there, and charge it at the same time, amazing little bit of DIY. We do wonder how strong the magnet is though, assuming you go over a bump rather hard, with the Palm Pre be […]
11/10/2009, Sprint will be launching the Palm Pixi in 5 days’ time, and someone managed to catch an image of the handset running webOS 1.3.1 alongside what is deemed to be a rather frisky user interface. While the video failed to show off the new features that will be making its way to 1.3.1, it is still interesting to know that 1.3.1 is very real and ready to roll.
11/08/2009, It wasn’t too long ago that Bell dropped the asking price of the Palm Pre to CAD $149.95, but (probably thanks to the holiday season) the price has further plummeted to CAD $99.95, albeit with a 3-year contract, but who cares, right? Would you pick up the Palm Pre for that price, and accept the 3-year contract?
10/31/2009, When this cat and mouse game first started, we were rather intrigued, but after going back and forth so many times, it’s starting to become tiresome. We’re talking about the iTunes syncing issues with the Palm Pre of course, and with the latest iTunes update, the Palm Pre can’t sync with iTunes again. One possible solution to end all this confusion would be to do like what RIM has done, […]
10/26/2009, If you’re on the prowl for a Palm Pixi, do mark November 15th on your calendar as that is the day when it will arrive on the Sprint network. Retailing for $99.99 with a 2-year contract, you will first need to send in a $100 mail-in rebate while taking advantage of the $50 instant rebate. This will be the second Palm webOS-powered device in the market, where features include linked […]
10/20/2009, Remember those slider handsets that are able to end your calls simply by sliding them back into place? The Palm Pre surprisingly doesn’t do that – at least not until the most recent patch was released. This patch will also enable features on the Palm Pre including forwarded text messages, LED light for alerts and inclusion of pages to the app launcher among others.
10/18/2009, It’s probably the closest we’ve got to a press release, and we’ll take it. We’re talking about the Twitter post by VZWOffers stating that Verizon will be carrying the Palm Pre from early next year. Fans of the Palm Pre will certainly be rejoicing, not to mention the many folks who have been complaining that Verizon has a rather lackluster lineup of premier phones.
10/07/2009, A Vietnamese site managed to get a hold of a GSM prototype of the Palm Pixi, which means it can be used in other carriers apart from Sprint in the US. The device looks identical from the outside, but it might experience a slash in internal storage space of just 4GB compared to the original 8GB in the US-bound model. Apart from that, the GPS navigation system and 2-megapixel camera […]
10/04/2009, It certainly is a never-ending battle between the Palm Pre and Apple’s iTunes. It seems like the recent setback didn’t stop Palm from working hard to get its Palm Pre to talk to iTunes again, and with its latest webOS 1.2.1 update, syncing with iTunes 9.0.1 is back. This latest update should be pushed out to Palm Pre users, so keep an eye out for the update!
10/02/2009, Mark October 20th on your calendars if you are waiting for the Palm Pixi device as that is apparently the release date specified by Sprint as well as Best Buy. Still, the Palm Pixi isn’t as powerful as the Pre, and has a lot of work to do if it were to expand Palm’s market share when it comes to smartphones with the presence of other goliaths in the scene […]
09/27/2009, If the $100 price point for the Palm Pre at Amazon wasn’t low enough for you, you might wanted to take note that Walmart is also selling the Pre for $79.99, if this keeps up, we’ll be getting the Palm Pre sooner rather than later, which certainly isn’t a bad thing. It does make you wonder if these price cuts are related to the Palm Pixi.
