05/26/2009, This phrase is reportedly coming from a Pre Launch Guide that has leaked. Conclusion: in addition to getting up early to get one of the 4 units available at your local Best buy, you will also have to make sure that you don’t look like an “IT Centric business users”, because that would not fit the target audience of supposedly hip and trendy people. Will we have to show our abs […]
05/22/2009, There has been rumors yesterday about Best Buy Mobile having low inventory for the Palm Pre launch. According to BGR, the rumor might be true and Best Buy Mobile will launch in two phases: Phase 1 will be from June to July with super low inventory and very little promotion. Stores have been warned that “customer demand will outweigh inventory and stores may go weeks after launch with little or […]
05/21/2009, When Sprint speaks of Pre shortage, they mean it: 4 Palm Pre will be available per Best Buy store for a grand total of 4250 Pre phones for that franchise. BGR reports that RadioShack stores will get only two Pre. When the Blackberry Curve 8900 came out, we just went to a low-tech area of Silicon Valley, walked into a store and got two boxes despite shortages. You might be […]
05/21/2009, Wasn’t the Palm Pre supposed to be available for $549 without a contract? Not according to Best Buy. In anticipation of the (engineered?) shortage, BestBuy is setting the price at $849.99, so that you’ll have a hard time choosing between a laptop, an iPhone+accessories or any Blackberry – and the Palm Pre. There are Palm fans out there, but a $849 price is just crazy. We suspect that BestBuy gets […]
05/20/2009, How much are folks willing to pay for the new Palm Pre without being tied down to a contract? Well, it seems as though this smartphone is going for $549 without taking up Sprint’s 2-year agreement offer. At that price point, it doesn’t automatically mean that the handset is unlocked, since Sprint is the exclusive carrier for the Pre for some time to come.
05/20/2009, For those who thought that the mail-in rebate from Sprint for the Palm Pre will work like some sort of international diplomat’s passport (within the US, at least) will be pleasantly surprised to know that Best Buy will get straight to the point by offering the Pre for $200 without having you to go through the hassle of working on a mail-in rebate. Although that small detail has been purposely […]
05/19/2009, It is official – Sprint will be offering the much vaunted Palm Pre throughout the US from June 6th onwards, so ensure you make a beeline to the nearest Sprint store, Best Buy, Radio Shack and selected Wal-Mart stores if you want to pick this puppy up. Hey, if you’re too lazy to add to the carbon footprint by driving your huge SUV out, why not stay at home and […]
05/12/2009, BestBuy has been a great source of leaks in the past couple of years. This time, an internal leak seems to show that the Palm Pre wireless charger will appear only on June 7th, which is close enough of the June 5th rumored launch date (one of many… May 19th was another one). Sprint is currently training its personal for the launch and a June launch looks increasingly more likely.
05/11/2009, The Palm Pre will surely be a hit when it is released, so let us build the anticipation further with this leak of box and materials for the new smartphone. Check out the information card you that you see above, and so far confirmed accessories in the box include the Palm Pre itself, a microUSB cable, a travel charger, a battery, phone pouch and stereo headset if you’re thinking of […]
05/11/2009, A Sprint training video made its way to YouTube, but it was not the gestures that sparked the interest of die-hard Pre fans, it’s the presence of a few icons, namely: Acrobat Reader, Documents to Go, Sprint (account management?) and the App Catalog. The appearance of the previously announced App Catalog is yet another sign that Palm is almost ready to launch. On the documents side, hopes are high for […]
05/07/2009, When exactly will the Palm Pre be launched? Well, there are already a few dates floating around, and now a new picture showing a Palm Pre “launch lunch” on June 5th has surfaced. Of course, some people might doubt the legitimacy of the leaked information, as there is a typo in “Employee Benfits”, though there have been cases where typos appear on legitimate documents. What do you think? True or […]
05/06/2009, Bell Mobility will be the carrier of choice when the Palm Pre arrives in the Great White North, and it will be tied to Bell Mobility on an exclusive basis to boot. This announcement makes Bell the second carrier in the world to date to announce the 3G-capable Pre, and Bell Mobility hopes that the unique user experience of the webOS-powered smartphone alongside Canada’s largest 3G network will see the […]
05/06/2009, Sprint is taking the Palm Pre very seriously, and we have word that at least a trio of retail employees have been given the boot because they were talking about the highly anticipated Palm Pre outside of their workplace, thus violating an NDA signed during the hiring process. We wonder what is it those sacked employees talked about that the whole world doesn’t already know anyways, apart from two really […]
05/06/2009, The Palm OS platform isn’t exactly a spawning bed for games to die for, but it has its quirkier moments that one might appreciate. For folks who fall under that category, Handcase from Brazil has developed its games for PC platform which are essentially ROM files that will run on the Palm emulator on your computer. At least the Palm emulator is free, but you do need to fork out […]
