Panasonic wants to claim another "world's lightest" title with the announcement of the HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 camcorders, tipping the scales at a mere half pound - now that's insanely light if you've ever held any camcorders of yore! The HDC-SD10 will make sure all your memories are digitized on its SD/SDHC memory card, while the HDC-TM10 will have 8GB of internal memory for you to fill up first before it starts to look for the presence of an SD/SDHC memory card within. Shared specifications include Advanced Optical Image Stabilization for better looking home-made videos as well as 16x optical zoom for moments where you need to get closer to the action but can't do so physically. Panasonic also ensures you won't miss a moment when shooting as both devices boast a 1.9-second “Quick Power-On” mode, shipping this September where the HDC-SD10 will retail for $550 while the HDC-TM10 is going for $50 more. Panasonic has recently announced a couple of new camcorders - the HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 which tip the scales at a mere 227 grams, making Panasonic claim them to be the lightest full HD camcorders in the world. Well, hope Panasonic enjoys that unofficial title while it lasts, we're pretty sure both camcorders won't remain in that position for long knowing today's cat-and-mouse game among manufacturers these days. Both models are able to record 1,920 x 1,080 HD images with features such as 16x optical zoom, touchscreen control, iA with AF tracking and Advanced Optical Image Stabilizer to counter those who shake a whole lot even when it is right smack in the middle of summer. The SD10 relies on the SD/SDHC memory card to store its recordings, while the TM10 uses a combination of its 8GB internal memory and SD/SDHC memory card slot as well, with the former retailing for £529.99 while the latter is going for £499.99 this June.
