05/03/2011, Rovio’s hugely popular franchise, Angry Birds, has already gotten so many people hooked across multiple platforms, that even a movie has been made out of it – Rio. Well, the recently launched BlackBerry PlayBook is considered to be “boring” – at least until Angry Birds rolls out for it, right? According to Research In Motion (RIM), Angry Birds will be appearing on the PlayBook tablet in the near future. It […]
05/02/2011, [Blackberry World] When the PlayBook first arrived, many people were disappointed with the lack of apps that were available with the device. As mentioned in our PlayBook review, there were no email, calendar, video chat, and even basic apps like Facebook present on the tablet when it arrived. Well it looks like RIM are working hard to address the issue and has announced the Facebook app for the BlackBerry PlayBook.
05/02/2011, Playbook Review - this complete review of the Blackberry playbook goes over the most popular aspects of using this tablet computer in the real world.
04/28/2011, So far, reviews of the BlackBerry PlayBook have been far from flattering to the average user – the hardware is polished and refined, but the other equally important component which is the software, still has a long, long way to go before people would actually want to queue up for such a tablet. Still, Research In Motion (RIM) is not going to let all the negative early reviews dampen their […]
04/19/2011, The PlayBook only went on sale earlier today, but the folks over at iFixit wasted no time in getting their hands on one and having a go at disassembling the QNX tablet from RIM. While there’s nothing extremely interesting about this tablet’s innards, iFixit have noted that it was relatively easy to take apart, and the LCD isn’t fused to the glass, so a cracked screen doesn’t mean an expensive […]
04/19/2011, The day of the BlackBerry PlayBook has finally arrived. While RIM has missed their end of Q1 2011 deadline promised earlier, RIM delivers the tablet 19 days into the first month of Q2. Since RIM’s market share in the smartphone segment has been declining, the BlackBerry PlayBook could be vital to the success of the company. The BlackBerry PlayBook is a tablet that packs a 7″ 1024 x 600 display, […]
04/07/2011, Earlier today we reported that RIM’s upcoming tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook was delayed due to a majority of all touch displays being bought up by Apple for their iPad 2. Well now it seems that a new rumor has surfaced, this time pointing the finger at Adobe. Apparently the PlayBook has had problems running Flash well, and for a tablet that’s touted to be tightly integrated with Flash – it’s a […]
04/07/2011, It’s already April and we’re getting closer to the release date of RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. The QNX tablet which missed its Q1 deadline went up for for pre-order last month and was officially announced to have a release date of April 19. The reasons for the delay weren’t mentioned, but rumors have started surfacing recently, pointing fingers at Apple as the cause of delay. Taiwanese publication DigiTimes reported that […]
03/31/2011, Now here’s an interesting piece of informational nugget – the BlackBerry PlayBook will not only be able to tether to a BlackBerry smartphone, but to make it all the more appealing to everyone else, it can also play nice with any phone. This is probably to make up for the lack of built-in 3G connectivity despite coming with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities right out of the box. Of course, this […]
03/29/2011, Research In Motion (RIM) has just confirmed that their PlayBook device will eventually receive native email, calendar and contacts applications via a future software update, although we would have preferred to see that happening when it rolls out fresh from the factory. It is still quite surprising to know that the PlayBook is going to be released without such essential applications, especially considering where BlackBerry’s strengths lie – that is, […]
03/24/2011, The BlackBerry PlayBook will be RIM’s first device that runs on a totally new operating system, QNX. One of the problems with having a new operating system is the fact that there usually isn’t an ecosystem of apps developed for the tablet when it launches. Well, RIM has officially announced that this won’t be a problem – the BlackBerry PlayBook will have the ability to support both BlackBerry Java and […]

03/11/2011, Ever since Apple introduced FaceTime to the iPhone, video calling has become a major trend of mobile devices and you’d be hard pressed to find a new device announced this year without a front facing camera. The BlackBerry PlayBook is no exception to the rule. It ships with both front and rear cameras, which obviously indicate that the tablet is video call-capable. It was initially assumed that the PlayBook would […]
03/11/2011, We do know that value is in the software, and for the longest time, Apple has gotten a rather huge lead over its rivals in this sense thanks to the iTunes store. Well, other hardware manufacturers like Microsoft has wisened up to the situation, and hence we do have other app stores in the form of the Android Market and Windows Marketplace. Well, the Blackberry Playbook which has already visited […]
