05/11/2012, Just recently (yesterday, to be exact), we mentioned that the upcoming redsn0w release will allow you to downgrade your iOS for untethered jailbreaks, and the day has arrived. The brains over at the Dev-Team have managed to put together a nifty piece of work, where they intend to make your jailbroken iOS experience take the easier road. The latest version of RedSn0w now stands at 0.9.11b1, where you can apply […]
05/10/2012, Just the other day we reported that iOS users who have updated their iOS devices to version 5.1.1 would be able to jailbreak their devices thanks to the redsn0w jailbreak tool. Granted it’s a tethered jailbreak, we’re assuming that it’s still better than nothing, right? Either way the good news is that if you’d prefer an untethered jailbreak and you don’t mind giving up on iOS 5.1.1, the upcoming redsn0w […]
05/08/2012, While updates to operating systems are a good thing, what it means for smartphone users on jailbroken/rooted devices is that by upgrading, you will lose jailbreak or root access to your phone. Well the good news is that if you were planning on updating your jailbroken iOS device to version 5.1.1, you’re in luck as the latest build of Redsn0w will still provide jailbreak access to your iOS device albeit […]
03/08/2012, Just yesterday we reported that iOS 5.1 was launched and available for immediate download, and the good news for iOS users out there is that the update has since been jailbroken! The iPhone Dev Team have recently announced that their Redsn0w jailbreak tool has been updated to allow the jailbreaking of iOS 5.1 devices, but of course there are several caveats that potential jailbreakers should definitely pay attention to.
12/09/2011, While iOS 5 can be jailbroken, unfortunately its jailbreaking method is currently limited to a tethered jailbreak. What this means is that whenever you restart your iPhone, it will have to be plugged into the computer. Not a huge deal but highly inconvenient if you travel frequently, and thanks to a Twitter update by famed iPhone hacker, MuscleNerd, it looks like an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak could be headed our […]
08/09/2011, A while back we mentioned that non-developer devices that were running on iOS 5 would be disabled by Apple due to them not having the proper authorization. While we can’t confirm that there have been many cases of devices being disabled due to unauthorized use of iOS 5, if you are such a user, it appears that the jailbreak for iOS 5 beta 5 has already been released.
06/10/2011, We already know that iOS 5 can be jailbroken, and here we have word that the iPhone Dev Team has released a tool which will enable just about any Tom, Dick and Harry to jailbreak iOS 5. Of course, caveat emptor applies here although there really isn’t anything to “buy” so to speak, apart from an idea – after all, you should always be wary of jailbreaking devices (a process […]
04/18/2011, Jailbreakers, take note! If your iOS-powered device is running on iOS 4.3.2, then you will be pleased to know that redsn0w has announced an untethered jailbreak for the aforementioned version of the iOS. After all, it was discovered that Apple engineers didn’t really patch up the loopholes used in the untethered hacking method that was taken advantage of by redsn0w for 4.3.1, so with the same vulnerability in place, all […]
11/23/2010, The Dev-Team Blog recently updated their page, touting a spanking new redsn0w version 0.9.6b4 jailbreak that will cater for the hot-out-of-the-oven iOS 4.2.1. Jailbreaking the device, however, is easier said than done since the 4.2.1 jailbreak is currently “tethered” so owners of the iPhone 4, iPad, and newer iPhone 3GS and iPod touch will need to hook it up to a computer to boot into a jailbroken state every time […]
09/23/2010, One of the major downsides of the iPhone 3G at the moment is that you aren’t able to (officially) run the Game Center available on iOS 4.1. Of course, the limitations don’t always apply if you’re part of the jailbreaking community and the folks out there have managed to get the Game Center running on the iPhone 3G that has been jailbroken by the RedSn0w 0.9.6 jailbreak for iOS 4.1. […]
06/17/2010, iPhone 3G and iPod 2G users should be quite happy to hear that Redsn0w 0.9.5 has been updated, bringing with it support for Windows users to jailbreak iOS 4 Gold Master on the iPhone 3G and iPod 2G. This update will include optional support to enable multitasking and wallpapers on iOS 4 on said devices, which isn’t offered by default. As usual, remember to take the usual precautions before you […]
07/08/2009, Apple executives must be getting a headache now that there is more than a single jailbreak utility. redsn0w will replace the QuickPWN jailbreak software by preserving the iPhone 3.0 baseband for future iPhone OS releases, marking a milestone as it is definitely good news for folks who want to unlock their iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G in the future. Of course, you can always software unlock your iPhone 3GS using […]
