Flashlight LED Spy Camcorder
Posted on February 1, 2010 9:06 AM

Spy cameras never seem to grow old, and we’ve seen spy cams crammed into flashlights before, but this Flashlight LED & Spy Camcorder seems to have done a good job of cramming the camera into a pocket-friendly size device. With this, you can always have a handy flashlight around with you, and when you decide that James Bond needs an assistant, you’re good to go. This device, capable of recording at VGA resolution at 29fps, comes with a microSD card slot, USB port and rechargeable battery. It’s going for $59.90, which might seem a little steep, but if you want to join the ranks of James Bond, you’ll need to invest, right?
Spy Camera Looks like An iPod
Posted on January 26, 2010 7:56 PM

You’ve seen all sorts of spy cams before, dressed up as pens, ties, and who knows what. Next up is a spy cam hidden in a fake-iPod looking device. If you pop it into some discreet area, you might even be able to get away with it, but if you leave it on the table, chances are someone is going to try and fiddle with it to play some music. The funny part is, it can be mounted on the wall with the included 360-degree stand, or set on the table (using the same stand). It’s quite a funny sight to see an “iPod” sticking out from the wall like that. It’ll require a microSD/SDHC card to store the pictures or videos, and can capture videos at 640 x 480 pixels, at a rate of 25fps. Image capture allows you to take pictures up to 1600 x 1200 pixels. It’s powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, so you won’t have to hook it up to a wall socket while you do your sneaky recording. It’ll set you back $39, so if you think it might make you feel more like James Bond, you’re welcome to give it a shot.
Playboy Hidden Belt Camera
Posted on January 21, 2010 8:24 AM

When you see a product with a camera hidden behind the Playboy logo on the belt buckle, all sorts of images come to mind, but we’ll leave you to your imagination. It’ll certainly help you break the law in many places, so we’d suggest that you think twice before using it in certain areas (and you know where those places are). The belt also can function as a webcam, as well as supporting memory cards up to 16GB in size and recording videos up to 720 x 480 resolution. It’s currently going for $43, and it’s entirely up to you to decide whether it’s worth the investment.
Upgraded Spy Button Camera
Posted on January 15, 2010 5:46 AM

You might have been interested in the button camera before, but the cost of entry was too high back then. Now the lovely folks over at Thanko are selling a new Spy Button Camera on their site for just $55, which includes 6 buttons. The camera is capable of shooting 720 x 480 resolution videos at 30fps and pictures in 1280 x 1024. It’s powered by a lithium-ion battery, and is enough to shoot about 70 minutes of video. You’ll need to pop in a microSD card for you to be able to store your videos, and it supports cards up to 16GB in size. Seems like a fun thing to carry around with you if you’re into spy gear, just don’t forget you’re wearing it and walk into places where cameras aren’t allowed.

Motorola Sholes Tablet Appears Again
Posted on December 4, 2009 4:02 AM

While there still isn’t any official confirmation on the Motorola Scholes just yet, more pictures of it seem to have appeared online. If the rumors are true, this device will be powered by Android 2.1 and will sport features such as a 3.7-inch touchscreen, FM radio, 5-megapixel camera. Word on the street is that it will be released on China Unicom as the XT701, which sounds rather unattractive to be honest.
thumbsUp USB Flash Drive Voice Recorder
Posted on November 24, 2009 8:26 AM
We’ve shown you the Mini Spy Cam from thumbsUp a while back, and if that seemed too complex, what about the thumbsUp digital voice recorder. It looks like your standard USB flash drive, but it hides a voice recorder capable of capturing up to 40 hours of audio in .WAV format. It looks like something James Bond would use, no?
Voice Activated Spy Cam
Posted on November 19, 2009 10:12 AM

If you’re looking for a mini spy camera, the Mega Mini Spy Camera Ultra might just fit the bill. It might not be as small as those pinhole cameras that are used to fill up the pictures in the gossip column, but it’s still fairly small. For $199.95, you can pick up the black or silver version, with other colors to be released soon. The Mega Mini Spy Camera ultra can record 30fps video at 640 x 480 resolution into the bundled 2GB microSD card, voice activation, and it supports microSD cards up to 16GB. Of course, if spying isn’t your thing, you’re still welcome to use it as a web cam and audio recorder.
Tissue Box Hidden Camera
Posted on November 11, 2009 6:55 AM

You’ve seen many hidden cameras before, but most of them have a big weakness in the fact that the camera lens is exposed. The KJB SleuthGear Recluse looks like a tissue container on the outside, but houses said spy camera, and even better, it’s a fully functional tissue box, not some useless ornament. The camera is motion activated, and the CCD takes color footage in the day time and black and white pictures at night. The resolution of the media will be 720 x 480, and the maximum framerate is 30fps. It supports 16GB memory cards for massive storage, and also has a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 6 hours. At $600 it’s insanely expensive, but if you’re into all the spy gear, we can understand if you buy it.
Hide MicroSD In A Nickle
Posted on September 20, 2009 11:25 AM

If you’re looking to play the part of a spy at some costume party, you could always pick up one of these Spy Coins from Dereu & Sons Mfg. Co. Each coin has a hollowed out inside which allows you to fit a microSD card inside it, and once closed it’s almost indistinguishable from your regular coin. There is also a special ring bundled together to retrieve your hidden treasure. The bad news is this hollowed out nickel will set you back $30, which really seems like a bad business deal, don’t you think?
HTC Leo spy shots
Posted on September 14, 2009 9:44 AM

Check out leaked images of the upcoming HTC Leo smartphone, where it is larger than the recently revealed HTC Touch Pro2 and the Touch HD, thanks to its (relatively) gargantuan 4.3" touchscreen display, where this smartphone will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 and run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor. Best to make sure you carry your hanky with you always to wipe off the fingerprints of jealous mates whenever they see you using this! Other features of the HTC Leo for us to drool over before its official release would be a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, 320MB RAM, 512MB ROM and a microSD memory card slot.

Nokia's upcoming Internet tablet, also known as the RX51 or Rover is more than ready to be announced a fortnight from now in Germany, but that has not stopped impatient ninjas from fumbling with their digital camera while they attempt to capture a live image of the Rover during one of their espionage exercises. What do you think of the Rover's chances of success in this day and age?
Spy Coin for those who loves eavesdropping
Posted on August 6, 2009 5:44 AM

If you happen to have trouble controlling your curiousity or just want to nab a cheating spouse in action, the Spy Coin could come in handy. This $36 device is actually a hollowed-out coin, allowing you to transfer messages or place a small transmitter within. It would be interesting to see just what kind of information you can pick up with this puppy around. Makes us feel like the best way of communicating around the office would be to rely on sign language instead. After all, the adage "walls have ears" certainly hold true here.

Button Spy Camera
Posted on May 18, 2009 8:33 AM

Ever wished you could play the part of debonair spy with fast cars and new ladies to bed each night? Well, getting the $96 Button Spy Camera from Brando won't help you out, despite it having a controller that masquerades as a ring. You'll probably come across as a pervert who has a penchant for twiddling with your ring all the time, so we wonder who would actually wear the Button Spy Camera and fiddle with one of their fingers whenever the hot new secretary waltzes into the office. Each purchase comes with 4GB of internal memory, where it can snap stills of 1,200 x 1,600 in resolution while videos are shot in 608 x 488 pixels at 15fps.
Distributed Acoustic Conversation Shielding System
Posted on May 11, 2009 7:24 PM

Walls have ears, or so the saying goes. Well, smart folks at MIT aim to debunk that by developing a secure conversation masking system which relies on a comprehensive system of power strips and sensors in order to drown out confidential conversations, regardless of whether you're in a room or office environment. Known as the Distributed Acoustic Conversation Shielding System, all you need to do is make sure that room has a working power outlet to hook this up to - each of the special power strips come with a PIR infrared sensor, a microphone and a small speaker. Everyone in a private conversation will activate their personal sensor so that the system can 'log' them into the conversation, tracking their location as they walk from room to room, chatting away. Whoever approaches that does not have a sensor will alert the PIR in a nearby power strip, where it will immediately beam masking audio so that the private chat remains, well, private.

Posted on May 4, 2009 5:55 AM
