12/13/2011, The AT&T and T-Mobile merger deal isn’t looking so good. Some analysts have even gone as far as claiming that the deal is on its death bed, although given the huge obstacles and the amount of opposition that both AT&T and T-Mobile had to face, we can’t help but agree to a certain extent, but it seems that AT&T is now trying to salvage what’s left of the deal by […]
12/12/2011, T-Mobile has recently posted up an announcement detailing an upcoming update for the HTC Amaze 4G. It looks like the phone will be getting a bunch of new features including the all-important WiFi calling from T-Mobile. 12/08/2011, It looks like we’re about to see the first Nokia Windows Phone devices in the US sooner than we thought. The folks over at T-Mobile and Nokia have started sending out invitations for an event that will be held in New York City on December 14th. It wasn’t mentioned what the event was going to be about, but judging by recent events (Nokia Lumia 710 turning up at the FCC […]
12/07/2011, Ah, the wonders of a FCC document and the kind of information that it holds inside. A copy of the manual of the Nokia Lumia 710 that is available over at the FCC showed, without a shadow of doubt, that the Nokia Lumia 710, the lesser of the two recently introduced Windows Phone handsets, will be making its way to T-Mobile in due time. While the FCC filing happened on […]
12/07/2011, Is it just me, or did white become the color to have where your gizmos and gadgets are concerned? White plastic tends to turn into a yellowish tinge after some time, even more so if you leave your device exposed to sunlight more often than not (it does not have to be under direct sunlight, mind you), not to mention the fact that it smudges far too easily. Well, that […]
12/01/2011, It’s starting to look like the AT&T acquisition of T-Mobile will not go through. Facing strong opposition from their competition and even the government, there’s a good chance that this merger will not be happening any time soon, but according to unnamed sources who claim to be familiar with the matter, AT&T and Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile USA’s parent company) have discussed alternatives should the deal fall through.
11/29/2011, We had reported last week that AT&T had withdrawn its FCC application for the approval of the T-Mobile acquisition. It seemed that due to numerous complaints and opposition from their competitors and even the government, AT&T has decided to withdraw its application but at the same time not give up on the possibility of a possible approval in the future, so much so that they are considering divesting T-Mobile assets […]
11/27/2011, Gadgets are funny business – the high end models are the most desirable in terms of design as well as functions most of the time, but then again, they do not generate the most sales for a company, since any graph would show that the mid-range and entry-level devices would do far better since the majority of the population would be able to afford them. Well, having said that, I […]
11/25/2011, If you’re the type that believes in negative energy and whatnot, it appears that with all of their detractors and even the government going against their merger, AT&T has withdrawn their application from the FCC that requested approval for a merger between AT&T and T-Mobile, a deal that was valued at $39 billion.
11/23/2011, The AT&T/T-Mobile merger is not looked upon favorably by many, especially regulatory bodies like the FCC, along with carriers such as Sprint who would effectively end up being the smallest amongst the four major carriers should this merger go through. The department of justice has filed an antitrust lawsuit to block the transaction, but the chairman of the FCC, Julius Genachowski has a backup plan in case the block falls […]
11/22/2011, The merger between AT&T and T-Mobile is definitely not a done deal as the FCC has ordered a hearing before a judge in February 2012. Apparently, the FCC is not convinced by AT&T’s argument that a merger would create jobs (96,000 jobs AT&T said in a TV ad), and we can understand why: usually mergers tend to lead to layoffs rather than jobs, and it’s not clear why consolidating to […]
11/22/2011, In the spirit of a potential white Christmas, T-Mobile has revealed their plans to offer the Samsung Galaxy S2 in white. No word on when it will be available. According to both Samsung and T-Mobile it will be arriving “in the coming weeks”, so let’s hope that they will be sticking to that schedule and that it will be available in time for the holidays. Apart from its new paint […]
11/22/2011, If T-Mobile’s offering of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus wasn’t the tablet you were looking for, the good news is that according to T-Mobile’s Facebook page, the T-Mobile Springboard tablet is officially on sale from T-Mobile for $430.
