It seems that French tech blogger, Presse-Citron, who was participating in a design session at LG Design Labs was told that the company is expecting to release a Windows Mobile 7 device in September. The news was tweeted, and […]
01/16/2010, HTC’s HD2 is probably one of the few, if any, Windows Mobile 6.5 devices sporting a capacitive touchscreen. So what does that mean for the stylus fans? Generally it means you’re out of luck, since taking a toothpick or pen and poking your screen isn’t going to work, and touching the screen while using normal mittens are out of the picture too. Now it seems that there is a solution, […]
01/15/2010, In the gadget and cell phone industry, you’re more likely to hear stuff being delayed, rather than released early. Surprisingly, that seems to be the case with T-Mobile and Windows Mobile 6.5. The update was supposed to be released on January 20th, but a link to the update page has been leaked, so you could just head over there, enter you IMEI number, and you’ll be served your Windows Mobile […]

Aside from […]
01/13/2010, LG has detailed its strategy, expecting to ship about 20 different smartphones in 2010, but has confirmed that more than half of those phones will ship with Google’s Android, similar to the GT540 that was showcased at CES. With Android taking up the bulk of the phones, Windows Mobile and Linux have been related to the minority. This is certainly bad news for Microsoft, especially when you look back and […]
01/11/2010, Microsoft has confirmed that it is working with its partners to sort out the issue of folks receiving text messages from the 2016. Apparently the problem seems limited to HTC phones that are running on Sprint’s network. Have you been experiencing similar problems? An unofficial fix was previously posted, though an official solution will certainly be more welcome. Hopefully they’ll be able to sort this issue out soon. After all, […]
01/11/2010, We previously mentioned to you that the Windows Mobile 6.5 update for Verizon’s HTC Ozone was leaked, and that meant that the official update wasn’t far away. Well, it’s here, and Verizon is offering it via PCD, their 3rd party support channel. From the looks of it, it’s the same build number as the leaked version, so if you’re already running that, you’re probably good.
01/11/2010, This is still firmly in the “rumor” bin. Sources have indicated that reps from Microsoft, HTC, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Lenovo, Texas Instruments, and even Nokia have said that Windows Mobile 7’s release has been postponed to 2011. It’s weird to see “Nokia” in the list, but maybe it’s due to it being a rumor. Apparently due to this delay, some “dedicated Windows Mobile 7” phones and smartbooks are being shifted to […]
01/03/2010, Those of you using Windows Mobile, have you been receiving messages from 2016 after you entered 2010? According to reports, many folks have been receiving messages from 2016, and it seems to be limited to Windows Mobile devices. Details aren’t concrete yet, but it seems that folks from T-Mobile’s network might be unaffected. A .CAB file fix has been reported to solve the problem, but that’s not an official solution, […]
01/02/2010, It’s certainly not your run-of-the-mill cell phone, but do you think the BPhone has a shot at all? This hybrid gadget will be combining the features of a mobile phone and a netbook. There isn’t any mention of the OS that will be powering the device, but if trends are anything to go by, maybe it will be powered by Google’s Android? Would you get such a device as your […]
12/31/2009, While the HTC Ozone hasn’t received an official Windows Mobile 6.5 update just yet, owners of said phone can take comfort in the fact that some folks have come up with a custom ROM for the HTC Ozone, updating it to Windows Mobile 6.5. It’s not a major update, but you’ll get some nice improvements such as graphic enhancements, Marketplace, MyPhone, better battery life, performance improvements, better Exchange support and […]

The bad news is that there isn’t any mention of the other […]

The search is on for a Principle Program Manager who would be responsible for bringing “Xbox Live enabled games to Windows Mobile”. Microsoft seems particularly interested in “avatar integration, social interaction and multi-screen experiences”. Let’s hope that we’ll be seeing […]
12/30/2009, It looks like Windows Mobile 7 won’t be the nearest upgrade after Windows Mobile 6.5. On a MSDN page, you’ll notice that there is mention of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 when discussing Widgets on Windows Mobile. Would you be interested in getting a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 upgrade before Windows Mobile 7 is out, or would you rather jump straight into Windows Mobile 7?
