05/03/2012, Yes, hold your horses – Windows Phone 8, or Apollo as it is nicknamed, is still not ready for prime time action just yet, so the current version of Windows Phone 7 will just have to do at the moment. While the Windows Phone platform has a rather ‘clean’ look about it, I am a firm believer that there is always room to improve, and the same can be said […]
05/03/2012, The Samsung SGH-i667 “Mandel” is one of the company’s Windows Phone devices that has yet to hit our shelves. Ever since it received Bluetooth certification earlier this year and cleared the FCC a couple of months after, we have yet to hear the official word from Samsung or AT&T which the device is apparently meant for. Oddly enough it also did not join the launch of the HTC Titan II […]
05/03/2012, Interested in seeing what Microsoft might have up their sleeves for Windows Phone? It seems that Microsoft has recently started sending out invites to an event they will be holding called Developer Summit. The event will be held in San Francisco, California, and will take place on the 20th and 21st of June. Not much is known about the event itself, although the name itself is a pretty good indication […]
05/01/2012, It appears that Microsoft is planning to launch a counter-attack to Google Android’s smartphones. It has been rumored that several manufacturers, including HTC and Samsung, are waiting for the arrival of Windows Phone 8 so that they can finally produce devices based on the new Windows Phone platform. Windows Phone Life’s Michael Blake said that he received an email from a trusted source who gave him a tip about Samsung’s […]
05/01/2012, Yesterday we reported that according to the Korea Herald, it was suggested that LG would be taking a step back from putting out Windows Phone devices and will instead focus their efforts on Android. Granted that the company only has the Optimus 7 and the Quantum as part of their Windows Phone lineup, it wasn’t a stretch of the imagination to think that they might have lost interest. That is […]
04/30/2012, Apple co-founder and award-winning computer engineer Steve Wozniak is no doubt one of the most influential people in the tech industry. That means that whatever he says, or does, can actually mean big - really big. So when “The Woz” said via his Twitter account that he was visiting AT&T for a Nokia Lumia 900 unit, everyone dug the story. Apparently Steve had a lot of nice things to say […]
04/30/2012, When Windows Phone is mentioned, brands such as Nokia, HTC and maybe even Samsung come to mind, but what about LG? Well you can’t be blamed for not including LG, after all the company’s efforts with the LG Quantum weren’t exactly stellar nor widely publicized to begin with. It looks like if you were hoping for more variety in terms of brands for Windows Phone devices, you can now cross […]
04/26/2012, The Force is definitely strong with you if you decide to install the Kinect Star Wars app on your Nokia Lumia smartphone which runs on the Windows Phone operating system from Microsoft. It enables you to hook up to your friends on Facebook and Twitter in a more fun method, delivering the usual latest news feeds from both Facebook and Twitter in the classic scrolling up manner during each movie’s […]
04/24/2012, Microsoft is ringing in the changes when it comes to the mobile platform, first by doing away with the option to shop for Windows Phone apps from the Zune PC software. Not only that, Microsoft also intends to increase the outlook of the Marketplace in a broader improvement effort, and will make it compulsory for you to have Windows Phone 7.5 installed on your smartphone before you are able to […]
04/24/2012, Windows Phone 8, also known as Apollo, is not out yet, but that does not mean others cannot come up with a Windows Phone 8 concept, right? Here is Yanko Andreev’s rendition of a possible futuristic Windows Phone, sporting a massive 5″ display at 1280 x 800 resolution. No idea on what kind of monstrous battery will see action with this conceptual device, but it had better be of high […]
04/24/2012, We do know that Skype for Windows Phone was launched officially a couple of days ago, and there were some concerns that the mobile version of the VoIP app is unable to run on Windows Phone devices that had a mere 256MB RAM. Well, it seems that it is not an issue with the Nokia Lumia 610, as it has been confirmed to run on this entry level Nokia smartphone […]
04/24/2012, In February, the Facebook app for Windows Phones got an update to version 2.3 which brought about a new design as well as better performance. This time around, the team behind the Windows Phone Facebook app claims that it has been listening to feedback from users via comments, emails and other information from the Windows Phone Marketplace which point to what users want the most out of their Facebook application.
04/24/2012, The Nokia Lumia 800 and 900 features a pretty unique design as far as phones are concerned. Admittedly they do feel pretty good in the hand plus the curved glass of the Lumia 800 is quite nice to touch, so we guess it’s not a complete surprise to discover this particular Lumia concept by Jonas Dahnert that has borrowed inspiration from the Lumia 800 and 900 (and subsequently the N9).
04/23/2012, There have been reports that Microsoft is currently working on Windows Phone 8 Apollo and that handsets with the latest build of Windows Phone are currently being tested. Thanks to DSLReport’s mobile site, it would appear that two Windows Phone devices with Windows Phone 8 are currently being tested and have apparently hooked onto both T-Mobile and Verizon’s network in order to test their speeds. The devices are “Nokia Fluid” […]
